I have been told i am not the most positive person when i post on this site(luvgonzo). But today was an april fool joke that went horribly wrong. Dont no where to start guys, but i will say the ref and the officals were bluddy terrible and again luck went against us. The sending off for Reina was an absolute joke,ok he should never of reacted the way he did but the player got him sent off.
I agree that Perch over-reacted and could/should have been sent off but i think Reina had to be given a red card. I'm amazed he reacted like that, it was a petulant and threatening display which in the modern game will always get a red card if the referee sees it. I'm certain that if this had been done by an opposition keeper you'd be able to see that. Also i think you're missing a major point here. Liverpool looked really good up until the point we scored, then you looked shambolic and Newcastle grew stronger. Its a mentality thing with Liverpools players at the moment, not a talent issue. Don't go down the track of blaming bad luck and poor decisions after every game, look at the problems with the team and tactics - that's what needs to be improved for next season to go better. Oh and please win the FA cup semi-final!!! I wish Reina hadn't been sent off, Newcastle were going to win anyway and ironically that sending off may cost us Europe...
Part of me is hoping Newcastle and Liverpool come out and go "April fools"! and then we have a re-match.
Perch got a yellow card, he got in the way of Reina throwing the ball out, but Reina did nut him a bit, and Perch had to go down to get Reina sent off like he deserved to be.
It was the way Reina reacted to the red card that was disappointing, he pretty much started a brawl, could of turned real nasty.
Perch should have had a yellow card before that for the hand ball, which also should have been a penalty. That meant he would have seen red after kicking Reina, Reina's reaction was shocking and Carroll's "dive" was embarrassing :L
Perch should be ashamed of himself for acting that way and deffinitely deserved his yellow for the trip (arguements for him deserving a yellow for the play acting also). Reina deserved his red, even if no contact was made, simply for the threatening nature of his action.
Guys, shouldn't you be more concerned about how newcastle bossed the game in the first half and were very comfortable for large parts of the second? You started well but as soon as we settled in we passed you off the park. Perch got a yellow, Reina a red. It's not going to be overturned either. See Barton's headbutt against ... Grant Holt I believe it was. Camera proved he didn't touch him, but the intent was there and the ban upheld. Of course Perch is going to go down and hold his face. What did Suarez do when Jonas brushed Suarez' face with a trailing arm? I don't know about the supposed handball, it was a shoulder, Isn't should considered bart of the torso. yes he moved his shoulder towards the back, that is what you do with your torso while trying to keep the ball out.
