Today sums up Liverpool's season, Liverpool being denied a certain penalty have Pepe Reina sent off. Except there is a successful appeal he is not going to play at Wembley against Everton in the FA semi-final on Saturday 14th of April 2012.
As a Newcastle fan i think someone needed to remind Perch that we didn't want any of the Liverpool players getting sent off - we need you to beat Everton so we get into Europe next season!!! I doubt the sending off had any effect on the result and i think it would be in our (Newcastle) interests to get Perchinho to send a letter saying "please don't ban him, i actually just got blown over by a freak wind"
absolute joke.Perch should be up with the fa for that, but then again pepe should not of shown the intent.
Thing is, they go on about this 'intent', yet they don't send players off if the guy whose face he is getting in stays on their feet. Dempsey did it to Bellamy, and BOTH got yellows. Had Bellamy gone down (which, by the way they officiate, he would be encouraged to do) then Dempsey would've walked. If they're going to enforce 'intent', then they need to send players off regardless of his opponent's reaction. But they don't.
It's because of these inconsistencies that you embarrassingly see grown men going to ground like Perch did because if he didn't Reina stays on & imo deserved to go for reacting like that and throwing his head towards another players face
as i say..footballers dont have any self respect and honour...however do you think Reina would have gone down as easy?
No, but I didn't have Carroll down as a diver until today so who knows. Last time Reina got sent off it was a similar incident against Chelsea, I remember Rafa saying he was going to visit Robben in hospital after that
Nah,Plus its the 2nd time its happened to him,Robben got him sent off in similar circumstances at Chelsea a few years ago.
Perch's rolling around like a wuss clearly had an effect on the referees decision to send Reina off. But its gone now,Toon won we lost.
Pepe was right to be sent off, despite maybe not touching Perch, there was intent, and we cant really quibble with a 3 match ban What Perch did is far worse in my book, he wont get anything off the clueless FA, but in my eyes he should get about a 6-10 match ban, that sort of thing just disgusts me,and I would say the same if an LFC player did it
Eggsbastardzactly. They moan about Perch going down for nowt. Carroll should have been sent off for cheating.
he did go down for nowt...two wrongs really dont make a right...the lad has got no self respect falling over like a wuss infront of thousands..then getting up when the job is done..a disgusting person..not what men do!
