This is so so true Angelic piece here is spot on,I agree 100% with his comments below, time for a complete change from top to bottom. Forgive the intrusion but how can you say Lansdown out, isn't he the one covering the 30m years losses? YOBG - yes he is but where has it actually got us ? When he should have invested money in either quality permanent players or loan signing in 2008 to get us into the Premier League when we were extremely well placed, we showed our true colours by buying Nick Carle and Dele Adebola. When the managers job became vacant instead of waiting for applicants (as rumour has it) Lansdown personally went in search of Steve Coppell who obviously didn't ever really want the job Then, again as rumour has it, he approached David James and signed him without Coppell knowing which in turn led to him leaving. Maybe all heresay but no smoke without fire ? Then to try and cover up his shortcomings he appoints Keith Millen and the spiral downwards continues When we need a strong and experienced chairmen, we get the muppet Sexstone. and on and on we go. If he ran Hargreaves Lansdown like he does Bristol City they'd have gone out of business years ago For any City fan expecting us to bounce straight back after relegation I have bad news for you. We'll do well to finish in the top half of L1.
Sorry Shiny mate I don't agree, if we go down, I don't see a top 4 at all, we would be lucky to finish mid-table. IMO this will put us back to when Tin man was in charge.
What makes you think if we are playing in League 1 next year that we will attract good players? What is there here to attract them?
We would be able to attract the same quality that we attracted when we were there last, the sort of person who will fight for the club
By what measure? We can barely fill our current stadium, we don't send many out to away games and we're commonly ignored by the likes of the BBC and Sky. That being said, I do feel that McInnes could rebuild from League 1 and get us competitive in the Championship once again. Sadly, I think he joined at the wrong time and that the board will sack him before he can build his own team.
Like I said on another post, you don't need to spend fortunes or attract "big names" - what we need is intelligent players, with hunger and MOST IMPORTANTLY, who are comfortable on the ball This last element is something that we have never had, even during the GJ years and as I keep telling you, hard work only gets you so far, you need ability to go further and this is something that GJ will NEVER master beyond league one as long as you have a hole you know where....
'what we need is intelligent players, with hunger and MOST IMPORTANTLY, who are comfortable on the ball' Prem - when you're on Mastermind will your chosen subject be ' Stating The Bleeding Obvious' ? McInnes's choice of player to keep us in the Championship has failed. He's more likely to preside over relegation to L2 than promotion to the Championship.
