I've gone for the Ted Walsh horse who I thought very impressive last time out. Agree though Quel, Sizing Jo'burg looks interesting

I thought that was the most likely winner as well Oddy but the penalty and skinny price got me looking elsewhere.

And, although she blasted them last time out look at who was riding in that race. Nina was on the worst horse in the race and the rest are very amateurish lady riders whereas Kate is a bloody good horsewoman.

2:10 Doncaster - Born To Surprise. Spencer come back early for this horse, Gosden's is very nice too but won't be beaten up today and will probably show signs of green-ness. Got some of the 13/8 earlier :)

WHISPERING JACK is the interesting one in the 3m handicap hurdle at Ascot today (5.15), on two counts. Firstly, he has moved to the upwardly mobile yard of Keiran Burke, a stable whose ability to eke out improvement from new acquisitions has been well documented in this column. Secondly, the return to decent ground looks sure to suit; his two wins at around this time last year came on ground officially described as good or good to firm, and he also ran well the only time he encountered good ground over hurdles this year, whilst the pick of his Irish point form also came on decent ground. He has dropped to a favourable mark, 2lb lower than when chasing home a progressive type at Towcester in November, and a return to that sort of form would see him go very close here.

Hugh Taylor..............................you are a sponging TWAT.........................LOL. Bet he even claims the credit if it wins!

Good luck Quel. DAYMAR BAY should kick the day off for us in style. All the 7-2 has gone now and not long before William Hill slash the 3-1 they are still offering too!

Well done for getting the price, must be a massively impressive horse at home for this punt. I hope it wins for you, and obviously it isn't getting my money. I would worry that if he doesn't get out he may need a proper Spencer ride to pick through the field, especially if they go down the stands rail.

LOL sure that will not bother you if you manage to get the winners for the blog. I would be looking at the ones with experience even though they looked poor first time out

    5:15 Ascot - South O'The Border

(Hasn't won for a long time, but first-time blinkers might make a difference? Very much afraid of the consistent Kasbadali, maybe a small RF too).

Posted this on the Saturday Thread last night. He was 9/4 at the time and is now a best priced 11/8. Price has probably gone now so sorry for not updating earlier on here. Hope you saw it last night. <cheers>

It will probably get beat anyway. <laugh>

Agree with Dascombes, CEILING KITTY, at Kempton, very eyecatching debut RV. It was Mel Brittains LUCKY LODGE that took my eye in the Brocklesby (winner excepted of course) went off at 40-1 but ran a really nice introduction. Can see that one winning soon.
I see two from the Kempton race are out at Redcar tomorrow. I like backing two year olds that have had a run, often means a lot. The Channon horse may go much better over a straight five as it looked clueless around the turn at Kempton!
