fair play to buck he did say he would only leave if one of the big clubs calling. the speculation is getting stronger with everyone now saying that should harry get the england job then buck will move to spurs, if harry do take the job then i dont think it will be until the end of the season.....i tell you what i would do and that is to appoint within the club as our next manager. promote monk and get him to work along side brendan for the rest of the season to learn how buck runs the club, if we go down the road of an outsider then we may lose the way the club is run and as an outsider he will never do things exactly the same.

It's not hysterical if it happens. Or has already happened. I am not just going by tabloid stories, they have just reinforced what I had been told.

I was told this was a done deal a while ago, and now the press have had the story leaked to them, I am convinced.

I have only placed two bets in my life; Swans to win the playoff final and Brendan to sign for Spurs at the end of the season. That is not to say I'm right, just that I am absolutely convinced he is going.

If we were to lose him , sometime soon would bring the most bang for the Buck . If we could get major money for Rodgers , I got no probs moving him ...... or anyone else for that matter . I do think it would be a catastrophic decision by Brendan to leave , but it wouldn't be the first time for him . I too think there's a pretty good chance he will leave also .

I read somewhere that at a personal or private level it was not the right time. With both his parents dying in the last 12 months or so, he wanted some peace and stability in his life at the moment.

After a couple more years at Swansea gaining some more Prem League experience perhaps the Man Utd job will be coming up for grabs?

Having said all that, it's still quite feasible he will go to Spurs, if offered the job.

I don't believe a word thats printed in the newspapers but If he goes I'll be as disappointed as the next man but don't forget the board have had a lot of influence in how we've progressed and they not going anywhere(unless someone can correct that statement) so yes there will be disruption but I can't imagine not a disrupted as when martinez went. If it is as Leeeon describes then the board will putting the feelers out right now (they read the papers as well )and will be planning for the worst case scenario. It strange to me that Brendan when questioned about he Chelsea job was very dismissive but with the THS job appears to quote that he's more than ready ,has much altered since Febuary ?

3 years left on a contract should bring a pretty penny if he does go .Credit to him for putting pen to paper to put the club in a good bargaining position if the need arises . Would certainly want to retain him but frankly , we can't lose .P.S. Any manager should take his big chance , when offered , because you never no when things can turn on you & the chance never comes again .

Why sign a 3 year contract if this was a done deal a while ago Leon ? For spurs to buy out the contract now it would incur a considerable sum of money as there is so long left on the contract, if the plan was to leave he wouldn't have signed as he would have got a better sum of money for himself.

This is bunkum I think and it's being put out by the press without any credible facts, the source of this story is probably from one place and the media is having a feeding frenzy by putting their own spin on it.

If I were running Spurs and Harry does go to the Engalnd job then I would look at Moyes at Everton. Proven top quality manager and experienced too. I think it's too early for Buck on his career to go to a big club like Spurs.

moyes is at a big club already, brendan is one of the most talked about managers in the country and he is well ready to take over a big club like spurs, the spurs board want him and money would be no problem to them, he would quadruple his wages in an instant and he would persuade one or two players to follow him to spurs, if he is offered the job then he would be a fool to turn them down, he deserves the chance and ill be sorry to see him go but i wont worry about it. good luck to him i say....

Have to disagree with you there super , I think if he does go , he goes alone . Any players ( wanting to actually play ) would be foolish to leave what they have at Swansea . A big club is a different gig than what Buck has now & I figure he wouldn't last the entire season at Tottenham , to much pressure ... just an opinion though .

it would take time to get spurs playing the swansea way and thats what the spurs board want, they obviously have faith in his ability and brendan has the confidence in himself that he can do it so why not, It would be a great move for him to test himself and a couple of players would not turn down the opportunity to follow the master if they were wanted. its another step up for them in their careers and we should not stand in their way if it happens....

Hope he doesn't go, but if he does will wish him all the best - unlike some he has always been honest about his ambitions - of course he would like to work with a 'big' team; but he is a family man and won't take the decision lightly - his family have gone through a very traumatic year and I think that they will be foremost in his mind. The above link is pretty ambiguous, but if he leaves he leaves us in a much healthier position than when he took the job - if he stays then happy days.

But at the end of the day newspapers print this stuff to sell newspapers - that is their bottom line, they trade in rumour and speculation and aren't too bothered with the truth!

Tomorrows chip paper guys - take it with a pinch of salt (and vinegar) ;)

Superswan how do you know what the spurs board want ? I would think they want redknapp to stay above all else, but can't see them going for an inexperienced manager at this level, this sort of reminds me of Paul Ince going to manage Blackburn, he wasn't ready for that I don't think Brendan or Spurs are ready for each other.

Apparently it's in Rodgers contract if " A Big Club " comes for him he can leave if it right for him & the club . It's why he sighned the 3 year contract . I guess it will cost the big club about 5 million if he can be lured away .

The fact is he will be here until the end of the season at least and, if the club has any sense, he should not be allowed to walk away for anything less then 5 million.

read it in a number of articles that the chairman and board want to get this manager onboard as they believe that brendan philosophy on how the game should be played is the way they want spurs to go.......

you can bet your last quid that he has had a clause written in his contract that if a big club comes in for him and he wants to take the job then he can walk. we would be lucky to get anything and there is nothing we can do to stop him...that is fair as he is only a stop gap until he gets the opportunity to progress in his career and he cant make it any plainer that he wants to manage a big club one day.....well that day has come quicker than he or anyone else expected so all we can do is wait and see what develops, if it happens then good luck to him and we will just have to accept it and move on....

It's the same papers that last week said we were going all out to keep Redknapp and the week before were saying we were going for Mourinho. They're no more clued in than us, it would seem.
