They went to a stadium today to play a team that had won every game at home and conceded only 6 goals all season. They went to a team/squad costing upwards of £400m to assemble and for 75 mins played them off the park. Were it not for a total **** refereeing the game and some tired bodies and minds after Tuesdays game, we would have done the double over a team expected to win the title this season and play in the Champions League next season. If you had offered me a draw at 2.59pm I'd have taken your hand off but at the end, I was actually disappointed to get just that. I am extremely proud of them all today; very disappointed that we couldn't hang on but above all, I am so excited about the future here I could burst. PS - Wasn't Mancini a complete arsehole today as well. His team had dived and cheated all afternoon, he got the worst penalty decision I have seen since the last non penalty was awarded against us v Everton and yet he was still moaning. I really hope Utd win the title now and that ****er gets the sack.
There is a difference between the two teams, its not money, its not TV exposure or anything like that, its HEART, we have that in abundance and they have **** all apart from money.......give me HEART any day of the week!!
I know, feels like the 'glory' days of the NSL! Except better! Fingers crossed we can take it, I would be heading off to the Shed if I was in Perth.. give us a chance to see Smeltz and the mighty Liam Miller in action!
