    Two North East Teams in Cup Final at Wembley.

    Both FA Vase Semi-Final ties concluded on Saturday and as a result, there will be an all-Northern League Final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday May 13th.

    1-0 up after the first leg on Tyneside, a 2-2 draw in Derbyshire against Staveley Miners Welfare was enough to see Dunston UTS through to their first-ever national cup final. Both sides ended the second leg with ten men.

    Dunston's opponents will be West Auckland Town, who posted a 2-1 victory at their Darlington Road ground against Herne Bay, following a 2-2 first leg draw in Kent.

    Dunston and West have already met four times in league and cup competitions this season, with one win apiece and two draws. The Final will be played to a conclusion, via extra time and penalty kicks if so required.

    Just found this on NUFC.com and wondered if anybody on the Toon board followed either of the two teams at any time and if they were considering a trip to Wembley. Guess there's quite a few on here that haven't been before.

    Some of the Toon away supporters go to any game when we don't have one on ourselves. They don't have any specific team that they follow, they just need their weekly shot.

    West Auckland's biggest achievement since the World Cup. Bit of a step down?

    Seem to remember hearing some good stories about both Bishop Auckland and West Auckland back in the day.

    The First World Cup (1909 &1911)

    The story of the trophy is an interesting and important piece of football history. It is with great pride that the people of Durham County recall that it was West Auckland Football Club who represented Great Britain in the inaugural “World Cup” competition during the Easter of 1909 and won it.

    Glad they both got there, but due to family connections I say come on Dunston. though at least if they lose its to a team like West Auckland.

    Well you can't have been following the Bay too closely or for too long!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The "Bay" have won the last THREE finals and were knocked out in the 5th round proper this year to West Auckland after having a player sent off against W Auckland.

    <doh>

    Edit Well done to West Auckland and Dunston. Both have a great day.
