Was class today. I hold my hands up I wanted to see him off our wage bill before Xmas, but if he keeps up this level of play he could save us some money in the summer! After a poor loan spell at Doncaster and Boro I honestly thought his time was up!

First name on the teamsheet in the centre half position for me. One day Kilgallon might even make a mistake! Then he will deserve to be banished to the reserves! :)

Turner was very good today aswell. When Brown and O'Shea return we'll be quite strong in the centre half department!
I think we can safely say Bramble will be shipped out in the summer if he keeps his freedom?

Bruce certainly brought us quality defenders but how he loaned out Kilgallon is bordering astonishing. Kilgallon and O'Shea are first choice for me and Brown can fight for his place when he is fit.

Kilgallon has the centre half for keeps if continues to play the way he has played. IMO he hasn't done anything that warrants being dropped. I think he has been outstanding and very composed. Top quality player.

    Echo all.

Deserves a new deal and a chance, very composed and solid.

I thought the only time Man ****ty were in the game was when the lad went off.

He is worth a new deal imo from what I have seen of him. Ditch Bramble and keep Killer.

he's quick and can pass a ball, two things no other sunderland centre half has been in the past five years. i thought he looked good when we first brought him in, i just can't fathom at all why bruce discarded him so readily. would love to see the lad stay on with us, just think what he could pick up off brown and o'shea as well.

Endorse everything said/written so far. But having listened to the Bardsley interview after the game, One comment was very illuminating as to Killgallons attitude. Now the lad han't played for a while and is thrown in at the deep end. I would have kept my head down and played safe football no head above the parapet sort of thing. But Bardsley said he never stopped talking, directing and encouraging. Speaks volumes for the lads attitude and confidence.
    Quite remarkable IMO
    :)

Agreed teeside I was the same as you but, as with McClean he has taken his chance with both hands and can only improve under MON. He'll not be first choice but, a very good squad player who will get games.

he is 4th choice surley behind turner, wes and john however he can also play LB or RB

thought he was outstanding, and given a run in the squad, could make the position his own, on another point every time Colback has played RB he has been outstanding, he could be a Sunderland legend

I agree about Kilgallon. I read somewhere that Kilgallon said MoN makes all the non-playing players work really hard in special training programmes to ensure they are fit if they are needed. He also said in his team talks MoN tells the lads to be 'courageous' with the ball, meaning don't always take the safe option, use the ball well in a speculate to accumulate sort of attitude. I liked the sound of that and it's obvious MoN has made a big impression on the lad which is showing when he plays.

Re Colback (I assume you meant LB) I also agree. I think Jack is a very calm and tidy footballer wherever he plays and his positioning and tackling is very good indeed.

Very encouraging the way he has slotted in - I do wonder if he is going to be reliable in terms of fitness though.

Get rid of the Greek and Bramble in the summer as we do have 4 good CB's on our books (not to mention the youngsters) if we can keep them fit

If we do sign a CB in the summer he needs to be top quality to improve us there. No point signing another squad type player if we keep the ones we have as it won't improve us. The only concern is all the CB's we have don't have great records with injury.

He looks cool a well, bit like Ice-Man on Top Gun.

Wonder if he can play in Ray-Bans?

Anyone see him take on 3 City players in the box then do a flick/cross in thingy (don't know how to describe it)

Seeing our 5th choice CB do that was absolutely fantastic.
