Right, now that the the chance of us finishing in the play-offs are about the same odds as James Harper scoring a hat-trick against Milwall, how do we approach the last few games? Be very interesting to see who gets a chance now.
By giving the likes of Bradley, Cooper, Cairney, Cullen, and others some game time. With the injuries at the back these last few games might as well be experience for Bradley and Cooper. Cairney has some massive untapped talent and we need to unlock it and Cullen has potential too.
Barmby has to use the players he wants at the club next season, if he doesn't do this then i don't hold out much hope for him as a manager. It could be that we see a few surprise omissions from upcoming squads for the next six games.
Cooper and Bradley are clearly going to get some game time. Apart from that i wouldn't make wholesale changes, whatever Nick see's as his team next year play them. If we don't stand a chance of getting King and Brady back don't play them as we won't benefit.
Not sure Cullen has the potential for this level. He'd be better sold to a League 1 team for a nominal fee with a decent sell on % If I was the manager I would build a team around Cairney. He has an immense talent and I seem to be in the minority in worrying that he has only one foot. His one foot is one of the best in this division. I don't see who else there is in terms of youth?
Bradley, Cooper, Dudgeon and Cairney all need some game time at some point. Dudgeon is injured, the first two will get some clearly. Cairney has potential but he just doesn't put the performances in consistenyl and i wouldn't say he has done anything to put himself out there as one of the best.
Let some of the players that have been left to rot in the reserves have a shot at proving their worth - Simpson, Garcia etc. Despite a hugely busy March Barmby has refused to play anyone outside of his 13/14 preferred players, and I seriously doubt that every single one has been that abysmal in training that they couldn't oust some of the frankly useless performers that have been making the first team week in, week out regardless.
