No, were not safe! Not till we are comfirmed safe... Wolves have gone, and can you honestly see the other 4 sides in the bottom 5 winning 4 from 7 because i cant, but i honestly cant see us picking many more points up this season??
I think we will finish on about 43 ro 44 points. We will win at least one more at home and a point or two away. We can beat Villa at home, we can also get something at Blackburn. Liverpool at home has a point or more available if we can play well. We should be hoping for at least a point against Everton too.
I know that is the case, but being realistic, we are playing well (when the formation isn't tinkered with!) and so we will get more points.
For the first time lambert has slightly frustrated me because 3cb's just does not work for us! How many times have we used it, cause almost every time he has started with it hes changed it earlier than normal because it hasnt worked. I would like to see the diamond from the off next week!
Thats why it was changed?? Yes we were 2-1 up but what saw us through the 2nd half? Had we carried on i dont think we would have picked up the points we did. Today also proved how we need to invest in our scoring department! The amount of times i sat there and though, wheres holt when you need him...
Didn't see the 1st half as I'm visiting family but saw the 2nd and I thought we looked OK. Don't know what we were like but saw the line up and guessed at 3 CB's. Holt back next week against the Toffees? 3 points there and it really would be relax time. 11 points is still too much for the others so we will be OK. Mind you 85 we looked safe up until Wembley and looked what happened after that. Just kidding.
The win against Wolves eased my anxiety regarding this question but as others have said, until it is mathmatically impossible we cannot take survival for granted.
We must not forget that although we're now only 11 points clear of relegation, there are still five clubs between us and the relegation zone. If we go down, it will be because of the strangest set of results in the history of top-flight football.
Although there are eleven points separating us from the bottom three, you have to bare in mind that it's the 40 point mark that normally sees teams safe and I'm struggling to see where that extra point's going to come from for the time being. We've got a tough run in and Everton next week will be very tricky, so we may have to wait for that 40th point, which, although I'm sure we'll get it, may make some fans quite anxious.
You guys are assured of PL football next year. You've got enough points already, with Pilkington and Holt to come back. I ook forward to coming to your place next year (hopefully, not over Xmas next time). Finally, congratulations on your support today - In good voice.
Everton are on good form, but remember, they have an FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley against Liverpool, the week after, so their players are probably going to have one eye on that. We have seven games left, three of which we will lose IMO (Man City, Arsenal and Spurs) but the other 4 games are definitely 'winable'. When was the last time we went eight games without a win under Lambert? Never!
I honestly think if we had Holt at the end there we would have a draw. With Holt back, we have no fear and we will get more points before this season is up.
Signs of life at the bottom yesterday but nevertheless as has been pointed out it would take a strange run of results to see us in danger. You can get 200/1 against us going down.Bookies don't offer that sort of deal unless you are safe.
