certainly someone of his level/ability. Getting the right manager, is more important than any transfer we need over the summer. Also think you've hit the nail on the head with your 2 posts before that.
That's a rather cynical view! I certainly wouldn't consider myself to be, but there are many who are.
The big picture is, Spurs were there before Harry and Modric, and Spurs will continue after they're gone, if this is another nearly episode, I won't be surprised. Having said that, as we speak, if City don't pull their finger out, there fall will be just as spectacular as ours.
Looks like Fergie might have been right, City are bottling it. Mankini will sleep with the fishes if he doesn't win the title. How ****ing bad are Villa? I thought they might have really had a go today, for Petrov! But no, same old ****!
Just when you need to be a unit, i find it incredible the headline news with Mancini releasing he doesn't trust Balotelli, cause unrest in your squad on matchday!?...bit of an og from the manager, in fact its a massive one.
Wolves, Bolton and Villa to go down? Wigan and Blackburn have shown some bottle, QPR are putting in some gutsy performances, while Villa are limply surrendering.
Villa? Unlikely, but not impossible. Especially given their current form. I could never understand why Villa wanted Mcleish. He relegated Birmingham, if he does Villa as well, he's gonna be the most hated man in Birmingham
I told you hes not right in the head...all this rubbish just makes me feel that when the day comes and Harry leaves..i wont really be too gutted..infact im looking forward to the search for a new manager in anticipation of who it will be, because i believe Levy knows what we need..oddly i think he sometimes knows more than Redknapp with regards what is good for us...before anyone mentions Comolli..Levy is astute and a learner and he knows such things dont work. i dont know about anyone else but i always have the sense that he doesnt truely 'love' the club.....and his agenda seems to me to be that of a man who wants to prove to the Fa that he is the right man for the job..that seems to be his nucleus for management nowadays....oddly he talks like a typical England manager..butting in with player issues. how the hell can you not puts across the fact that we need to make the wage ceiling higher...without disrupting players minds..especially our own....i really do believe that this guy cant read or write...common sense flew past him never mind passed him by! and thats why he doesnt seem to see the things most of us common folk manage to spot about our own team at times.
Exactly how I feel. Let's get CL football back and win the Fa Cup and then thank Harry for his efforts and wish him well with England (but secretly laugh when it goes tits up as we all know it will) and focus on the future of our GREAT club and the next era.
Look, I know that we are constantly reminded by Harry himself, but let's not forget where we were when he came in. No, he's not perfect, and before he came to us and did so well I don't suppose he ever thought in his wildest dreams that he would be in the position to be the next England manager. However, he's done a great job for this club, IMO. Personally, I think the England managers job is the ultimate poisoned chalice. I can't see why Harry, or anybody would want it. We also have to consider the players feelings, too. It has been widely reported that Modric, for one, would only consider staying if Harry stays. Surely that must say something about the guy's ability to inspire loyalty, and get people playing for him?
Do you honestly think that "Modric would only consider staying if Harry stays", is a true statement, NSIS? for me, it's the perfect excuse, as he knows harry's going to leave and it's a way of him getting a "dream move", with a handy excuse! IF a top manager was to come in, such as Mourinho for example, no player could question the statement of intent from our club, despite their relationship with harry. I can't see Modric questioning working under mourinho either... unless it was about money, of course.
I'm not so sure about that. I think Modric, along with several of our other players has a genuine affection for Harry, and the way he handles them. It may well be that what Harry said is correct. If ****ty are going to offer some ridiculous weekly wage (I somehow doubt it) then, yes, Modric COULD be tempted. I also think that, as has already been said, he couldn't necessarily expect to be a regular starter at City. Something he may want to consider as he apparently loves playing regularly. On the wider point, I was trying to point out that Harry has done a fantastic job to get us up to where we are now - given the far more limited resources at his disposal. Something that a few on here seem all too quick to forget, or dismiss.
I don't disagree that the players like harry, but there's plenty of other managers out there that would be great to work under and we're a club who are progressing. Part of that progression is down to harry and I agree NSIS, he's done an amazing job. I certainly wont forget that in a hurry. I think it's just that a lot of fans have conceded to losing him, so the discussion of management and players has come up because we could become unstable if we don't get things right. I don't think one person on here will tell you that they aren't grateful for what harry's done mate!
It doesn't matter if Modric wants to go , the club has to be united in its stance that are best players will not be sold, end of matter. We are not Arsenal. "Spursgura" ( A simpleton ) you are spot on but I would rather keep him as I am not sure we could attract a top winning manager to replace him.
I've never rated Silva that highly tbh, and neither have the Spanish National team, always on the fringe, nor the top 2 Spanish league teams, who could have bought him by now if they so wished. In fact his spell at the start of the season was uncharacteristically good, but we're now seeing the norm imo. He's influencing games far less now, and was hauled off after an hour, so I see why they would want Modders. However, City could end up with nothing this season just like us, at best it could be our name engraved over theirs on the FA cup, so to move for 'football reasons' wouldn't necessarily ring true! If we do end up needing a managerial replacement, i said ages ago, there are only a few managers that would keep LM, and it would have to be of Mourinho calibre, a seemingly impossible task, but that does seem to be Levy's forte, so who knows.
Yeah 100%, Croatians idolise Bilic and add that to (hopefully) Champions League football, it should be enough for Luka to stay. Though to be honest, should Harry go, I think Bilic would be well down the pecking order of candidates for Levy.
don't know if it's been mentioned, but Bilic has told Modric he should be looking to finish his career at Spurs and should realise he's at a massive club.
