Reckon he'd be alright as 3rd or 4th choice if he's on cheap wages. I don't think he's any worse than Bruce or Bromby, and at least he'll be willing to play, unlike O'Brien. We definitely need to sign at least 1 top class centre half though!

    Fair enough <ok>
Think he's looked half decent under Warnock! Although to be fair, they all have

If we could get those players signed (or at least the big 4) by the end of the season it would be a massive boost going into the summer.

If this was still SG making these claims about negotiations id be worried about it being more bates propaganda, making us all believe they were trying to tie up deals when they never actually were. But i dont think that would ever be the case with NW

I don't think we're that far off a good championship team. RB, CB and a winger, plus Robinson at LB and we'll be looking good. Definitely need to try and tie Snoddy/McCormack/Clayton down, and I wouldn't say no to White or O'Dea. I don't think Warnock will change the first team around too much, but he knows we have absolutely no depth in quality. If Clayton and Brown get suspended or injured, we're left with Vayrynen and Thompson...

How can you say we're not far off being a decent Championship team when only 2 games ago we were hammered 7-3 at home by a poor Forest side?
And that was our strongest team!!!!

I reckon we should keep Robinson as first choice LB and keep Lees as back up CB/RB. The rest of the 'defenders' should be let go.

Well, lets see what happens, Leeds are not in control re: the top players and if they go, they go.
As for the rest we will have to see what NW does with regards pre season.
NW knows what he needs to do more than any of us. I think Pappa Smurf realises that too which is really good. KTF. MOT.

When it comes to defenders, NW knows his stuff. He sees O'Dea for what he is, warts & all, & obviously thinks he can do something with him. Whether it's first choice CB or squad player remains to be seen, but I place my faith in NW.

White, hmmm, I think the jury's out on him. Lots of pace, but little end product. Again, NW clearly thinks he can do something with him, so I place my faith in him.

The other 3 are no-brainers. Get them signed now!!!

QQ - anyone any idea if there are any other contracts due up in the next 15 months? I think this would give a remarkable insight as to who is deffo leaving in the summer. How can we find out the contract info? Is there a mine of info out there somewhere that we can access?

It was the same side that comprehensively outplayed leaders Southampton and were desperately unlucky not to win. I think the players needed a rest, and Lees had an off day, but he's very young and will improve. Our main problem was we had absolutely no quality elsewhere in the squad, so he stuck with the same team, who were clearly knackered. Becchio could hardly run, Brown and Clayton looked utterly ****ed and even Snoddy looked sluggish. And I think with a few quality additions we would be looking good! Forest aside, Warnock has us organised and defensively solid, and hard to beat. That's with the squad Grayson left us. With his additions and stamp on the team, I don't think we'd be far away <ok>

Kiwi you're right, we're not a million miles away, but I don't get this 'tired' rubbish. Hopefully after a few months of NW putting them through their paces they'll be the fittest team in the division.

I'm not entirely sure I buy into the whole tiredness factor either, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. Either way, we need a good squad, not a good first 11. That way we can rotate and we won't need to use tiredness as an excuse! <ok>

I think they've generally been in decent shape this season. There was a huge fuss about all the 'double drills' Grayson & co. had them doing in pre-season, and I think they've looked disinterested more than tired in games like Coventry, Birmingham and Forest at home.

Maybe. But delph eluded to a lack of fitness in the squad. He said that was the main difference between us and villa. He also mentioned about our players drinking more than villa players were allowed to <ok>

That's something we'll have to keep tolerating under Warnock, since he has a record of letting his players go out on the lash. Well, based on that documentary of his time at Sheff United anyway. His players are always off getting leathered and he seems to not mind it.
