What do you think of the PST plan? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17562825 Will you consider investing?
Desperate situations call for desperate measures & good luck to PST. However, do you believe that 5,000-odd fans can write a cheque for £1000.00 I think it,s a big ask, particularly in todays economic climate. I personally do not think this is very likely.
It won't work. The average Joe does not have £1000 to spend on something that they will see no return on. I wish them good luck, but I know I struggle to find £30 a time to sit in FP, let alone spend out £1k on the PST thing. ......if anyone has those seeds to that illusive money tree though, could you PM me some!
Sorry to be a party pooper but I cannot see it working, even if they were to get their £5M. Without other backers prepared to put in a lot more than £1,000 they just won't get the funds necessary to buy and run the club and service the debts - otherwise we would have offers on the table by now. If I had a spare £1,000 and considered investing, Mrs Fish would have something to say about it, as would, I am sure, many other other halves.
I'll answer the question in a blunt fashion, with a song.
Just imagine if it did happen, thousands of deluded fools thinking they were incharge, it would be well funny, fingers crossed hey.
I will admire the 'ambition' but that is beyond stupidity. Take into account the running costs, current debt, etc... It's not finically viable and I doubt anyone would be willing to put a shed load of Monday into something which has a 95% probability of not working out.
Sounds like a more plausible plan for an AFC Portsmouth, than to rescue a club with debts of £50M to me. Of the regular attenders at Fratton Park a third of them being willing and able to stump up £1000 is unlikely I am afraid.
You have to applaud the trust for being positive and actually taking action to try and get something done but their plan to me just seems unrealistic in the current economic climate.
As I said I admire it, but the counter arguments are way too heavy! In this financial climate people are going to want a return in their money and it just isn't going to happen knowing the state the PFC is currently in.
Totally agree. Football, especially in the upper leagues, takes more than it gives back financially and there are too many things that take priority over football, no matter how much you might love you club. The trust might as well have said they intended to form a lottery syndicate to raise the money.
