Nothing to do with me, I can hear the outcry now if I started moving stuff on your board and rightly so.
I took the view that, alone, it wasn't doing any harm, Cerny. And it was contemporary, sport-related, and people seemed to want to add a comment or two - I'm a mod not a fascist policeman. When there was no interest, it will sink down into oblivion but in the meantime can't see any harm in r's fans expressing a view on another sport. Brix is senior mod - I'll leave the final decision to him.
A whole new thread to start up a debate about whether a whole other thread is a complete waste of everyoneâs time??? Thereâs a very real existential danger here that the whole of reality might completely disappear up its own a*se if this thread is allowed to continue much longer⦠Ludicrous and surreal in equal measure.
I don't see the problem in wanting to discuss cricket with other QPR fans. It beats endless threads about Barton and Hughes and certainly beats threads saying we're definitely going to sign player x because I'm in the know.
Exactly, it's nice to discuss other subjects with the fellow Rs that we've spent so much time building rapport with rather than starting again with strangers every time you want to say something about anything. If WBA wants to do a weekly cookery spot then great. If an F1 thread mentions teams other than Caterham then fine. If someone wants to talk about music, movies, toenail clippings, squashed insects or anything else then also fine. Surely this is as much a discussion board for QPR fans as it is a discussion board on QPR. Wouldn't envy you mods if you've got to ban the YouTube links and make sure all threads stay on topic.
Cricket is just dreadful. But why would a thread on it bother you so much Cerny? Are you pissed because you couldn't get into Public School?
Public school did me no harm Swordster, All that ***ging just prepared me for later life working with Architects
Reading the Independent yesterday, it had a big article all about Walid Jumblatt - the Lebanese Druze milita leader. Back in the 80s he was on the news all the time - but I'd forgotten about Walid and his superb name.
If we're going all retro with amusing 80's names, how about the Spanish striker from the '82 World Cup Lopez Ufarte?
Indeed Tooting. I worked in Beruit back in '91/92. Great food, wine and nightlife. At the time the Lebanese pound was so worthless I had to carry a roll of notes to the value of 300,000 pounds just to get a decent beer!
Christ I wish I had that much time on my hands to care!! Leave it alone if nobody was interested it'll soon disappear!
