Of course his refusal to shake his hand proves nothing, instinctively I fell he was inocent, a gut feeling.

But KingEric my point is the writen word is stronger than the spoken word. If you would not walk into a public place making insults, why do it online? Where actually it is worse.

The jailtime acts as a warning, if the seen punishment is harsh enough the majority of these people will stop.

    No problem <ok>

As this is a mature (so far) discussion, I am going to say that sometimes it is this lack of precision with words and phrases which has led the club into trouble over the Suarez episode. Just because we cannot prove someone guilty does not mean we have proof of innocence. Just as if we cannot prove innocence does not mean we have proof of guilt. Proof is evidence and in the whole furore over Suarez I read the word proof used when all people meant was suspicion or interpretation.

Very good point, internet technology moves quicker than the law and that is the problem, but the law will catch up and we will see a big site taken down for not moderating there users.

And a few people will be made example of in the meantime (scapegoats)

As soon as I saw this thread I knew you would be one posting the thread baz. Firstly I saw you say you did a Multimedia and Technology course, this does make you a psychologist to then assume why people say such things.

Secondly linking people's views from yahoo answers is ******ed, any odd sod can post on that site.

On to the article, I think the sentence is very harsh. The amount of people that dodge prison with in my opinion worse offences make this a joke. This is not consistant and has been blown out of proportion by the media. I'm not saying it's right in what he said but I personally think he is remorceful because he tried his hardest to get out of it with excuses. Supposedly he was pissed at the time but that can't be an excuse because he got himself drunk. He's *****, end of.

The fact that he may of been drunk, is no excuse, If I get drunk tonight and go out and commit murder, does the fact that I was drunk make it acceptable, of course not.

What does ***** mean? Your post contradicts itself.

I agree carl, but its been pointed out by opposition fans that 'he must be guilty because he didn't appeal',when he finally leaves LFC we'll learn what really went on behind the scenes because he'll let us know no doubt.
JT never had the option of letting the FA deal with his case because his alleged racial slur was heard and reported by someone in the crowd,Does being proved innocent or guilty in a court of law carry more weight than being found guilty by an FA panel?,and has this worked in JT's favour?

The Crown Prosecution Service have shown what justice in this country is(a joke)by adjourning his case until after Chelsea's season and the Euro's are over, which gives him the option of(if found guilty)paying the maximum £2000 fine and retiring from the game and therefore dodging an FA panel and getting a similar punishment to Suarez which is much harsher than the legal punishment and the stick that inevitably follows.

I never said it was an excuse. Read the second to last sentence, I said he was drunk but that cannot be an excuse.

    A ***** - an idiot, ******.

Wrong use of the word 'troll'. There is an art to trolling, being a wum or abusive and sick is not trolling. Trolling is trying to generate attention by posting comments on a forum that go against the accepted truth, and the trick is not to be found out. There has been a half decent one on alt.binaries.multimedia in the last few weeks, posting under different names, complaining that too many people are posting videos in the HD MP4 matroska format, rather than the old fashion low res divx AVI. I remember a classic one from the late 90's on alt.dvd.video, where someone even built a webpage to support his bogus argument that letterbox DVDs were better than anamorphic DVDs. Neither are abusive, but both generated mass posting, because they endorse and opinion that defies logic, and it provokes the opinionated and righteous group members to pontificate about how they are wrong. You fail is you get called a troll, or the thread does not generate much of a response.

Bazray's rather scathing definition from that most reliable of sources, Yahoo Answers, is probably supplied by someone who has been the victim of a WUM, and would probably describe "sarcasm" as the lowest form of wit ;-)

Fair play, well we will use your definition then, I used google to find the profile of a troll, Yahoo answers came top of the search results. Could of researched further, but not writing an essay here, just making a point<ok>

I thinks its very harsh to put someone in prison for saying something stupid on the internet. He was stupid in what he said but a hefty fine would be enough imo. There are people out there who have committed far worse crimes than having a drunken rant on twitter that have not been sent to prison.

If he was drunk, or not, makes no difference. Being drunk is not an excuse for crime.

Why can't the poster of a thread delete comments, like 606. Self modifacation. If you have nothing positive to contribute to this thread, then kindly piss off

Stop trying to turn my thread into a slanging match. At least A4L etc are funny.

I can post where I like <doh> Few of your posts lately have been positive, mostly arguing people's points and just being a nob in general. So you would thus be deleting your own posts quite often.

ie, Rubadub was saying there are worst crimes than a drunken rant on an internet site. You just ignored that point of his and went at a tangent with the word "drunken".
