Morning, people. Hope everyone, and I do mean everyone, well. Please allow me to nominate to the old regular readers:

Galician (5.05 Lingfield Park) - this filly, last year, finished 2nd in a couple of above average maidens before winning nicely at Kempton Park in November. That race has subsequently worked out exceptionally well with the horses who finished 2nd - 8th that day all going onto win contests (and to boot one of these was not disgraced in Listed company last weekend) so the form looks extremely strong. Given that many of those well in arrears of Galician, at Kempton, have won off marks in the early to mid 70's a rating of 78, for the filly's handicap bow, looks more than fair and I take her to oblige here prior to going onto better things.

Meanwhile, surely the most exciting news of recent days has to be Mr Henderson’s declaration that Heather Royal, what a lovely name for a mare by the way, will be going novice chasing next term. Surely, if she stays fit and well the Mares Chase Final will be a mere ‘gimme’ but am I perhaps tilting at the old windmills to suggest the RSA as a more ambitious possible target for her in 2013??? She is afterall a half-sister to the legendary Barbers Shop and her passage is sure to be guided so adeptly by the forum’s favourite trainer.

Finally, well I’m on my soapbox, is it just me who thinks Kempton Park are perhaps being a bit petty in running their 2YO heat tomorrow (1.50) before Doncaster even ‘get up and running’??? They seem a bit desperate to be able to say ‘we ran the first 2YO race of 2012’.

    Anyway, good luck today all.

    5.25 Wetherby - Ballyvoque

Ran pretty green first time out at Musselburgh, but settled in the end and showed promise. Looks the best of those that've had a run. The main danger may come from a debutant, such as the brilliantly named Brassick (by Presenting out of No More Money)

What do you know about Lawgiver Shearer? I see you have napped it at 16/1. Should I lay off the two I have against it?

Consistent and probably still improving. Good effort LTO at Wolves. 16/1 still available with Bet365 at the moment, so e/w probably best, even though only 6-runners.*

I've followed these threads for sometime and capitalized on some great tips from the top dogs on here. About time I repaid the the good fortune shared, despite playing it safe with my selections, trying not to embarrass myself losing my not606 tip virginity. <doh>

Also the abundance of fellow Geordies on here swayed my decision to get involved!

    Truthfully? not much.

It won since same race last year off a 2lb lower mark.

Other than that its an instinctive bet and that how I bet on instinct (and sometimes with a few selections from here)

What I know about horse racing can be wrote on a postage stamp. Just love the thrill of betting on horses and reading this forum and learning by the day.

2 years ago I couldn't stand horse racing until I went to Newcastle races and just got the buzz from there.

Sorry you didn't want my life story <laugh>. Anyway back to Lawgiver. Feck knows why I napped it <laugh>

That card at Doncaster tomorrow really does look Impossible with a Capital ‘I’. Anyone punting on it should be given a medal for bravery in my opinion.

Meanwhile, the local jungle drums and smoke signals are both indicating that Golden Electra, what a lovely name for a filly by the way, who runs in the hot looking bumper at Uttoxeter tomorrow, is well above average.

Absinthe is a certainty but odds are so low there's probably not much point

    Crowning Jewel @ Newcastle 2:30

    Prince Tam @ Newcastle 3:00

    Nisaal @ Newcastle 3:35

    Elshabakiya @ Wolves 5:55

All should easily win but only Nisaal is above even and still only 11/8
