    If you give fans a great cup run, the majority are willing to brush off an uninspiring league seasons. Two of our seasons under Ray Lewington being good examples.

    Tomorrow, if the Daily Telegraph is to be believed* I will simultaneously be setting a world record and being a terrible Watford fan. Even more so given that it's the first Saracens game I'll have gone to this season. <laugh>

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ru...5000-to-set-club-world-record-at-Wembley.html

    And to answer your comment on the now deleted thread Hornette, it's nothing a Relentless or two can't solve.

    * No world record then.

    Afternoon all - blimey what a day, first chance I have had for a troll around the interweb...I managed to fill up at my local Tesco yesterday and then went back later and filled Mrs W_Y's car up, we were both on red, so no panic buying - in fact I should have taken my little fuel-can I use for the lawn mower as it is empty, but I decided that I would be a good citizen....the country has gone mad and it's given the robbin' bastards a chance to drive the price - the garage I drive past in West West London is charging 140.9 a litre for unleaded!

    Snap NNW - I am at Wembley tomorrow as well. I have a good excuse though - it is the first leg of a day-long stag do!

    Back from driving Mrs H to the physiotherapist. Passed three garages...two shut and one with a long queue charging £1.44.9 a litre for unleaded. I dread to think how folk will behave if there actually is a strike. Mind you, I'll need to fill up before next Friday's drive to the game...

    The Jersey Govt has the right idea - keep shtum where possible. Mind you, they say so little that people are generally unaware who their Senators and Deputies are (our equivalents of MPs and Councillors although they are all classed as States Members as are the Connetables, who are the equivalent of a Mayor in each Parish).

    No petrol problems here yet. If it's brought over from the UK, we would have a problem if there is a strike. If it comes from France, we're ok.

    Shame I can't bring my bike over on the plane, then when I get to the Junction next Thursday evening, I'll be able to cycle to my Mum's.

    I've just tried to drive to Thames Ditton, and gave up. Having spent ages trying to get through Mill End to the motorway (where, btw the garages are charging 144.9 and 141.9), the M25 was jammed solid which it rarely is on a Friday. Junction 16 was closed and there was an accident just before Junction 15...so..i turned round at 15 and came home...total journey time from Northwood to Junction 15 and back? 2 hours! Grrrr! I think i'll try and find some lunch!

    PS: i used Mr H's car, which has another 300 miles in the tank so should be okay for another few days :)

    Well that was an eventful morning. I have just got back from A+E as for the past 3 days i have had a stinging sensation in my left eye but neither my mum or i could see anything in it so we wondered if maybe i had scratched the Cornea. However it turns out there is something in there that just does not want to come out. So i waited 55mins to have a full eye exam and then wait another 10mins to have it washed out. I think more of it went on my hair and down my neck than in the eye, but i now have cream to put on it and hopefully it will clear up in 3-4 days. I then went to the co-op on the way home to pick up dinner for tonight, then came home only to remember that i had forgotten Kiri's flowers. Now to get on with the uni work lol.

    Villa midfielder Stiliyan Petrov diagnosed with acute leukemia.

    Footballers are a cross-section of society, so statistically once in a blue moon an active footballer will be diagnosed with a condition that doesn't bear thinking about. But what with Muamba and Speed (among others that I can't recall at the moment), I thought British football had had its share of tragic news for this season. :(

    By that time everybody will be full up and there will be plenty to go round. Hate to think what would happen in a multi car pile up with all of these vehicles carrying so much fuel.

    But I'm sure you will manage to reflect upon the positives and look for 'new doors to open'. When I was made redundant by the Aussie Govt. back in the 90's, my package offer included retraining assistance in the form of six months on full salary whilst working for a company of my choice to gain experience in a new industry. Having already decided at that point to try for a teaching degree, I offered my services to the university personnel dept on the understanding that they would allow me to attend a part-time study prep. course during the six months, which they did. A win-win situation for both parties, and the timing of this allowed me to claim back all the tax I had paid during the six months - bonus! The only downside was that I finished working on Xmas Eve, found that the Govt pay office had forgotten to process the rest of my package - and had closed for a three week break. Mrs BB was not very impressed at that news. :(

    Best of luck with the soul searching Yorkie , What I will add , if you dont do what you want to do , you will always think what if?
    Bad week this week old car finally died 297 000 on the clock and repairs were more than it was worth , ,went to bank ,rejigged the finances got some more money for a replacement car ( yep another partner van ex postie only done 35000km) with a few small dings and scratches at a very good price) then on one ride into work one bike started misbehaving so I turned round and limped home , the next day the other bike suffered fuel starvation probs and a snapped throttle cable , managed to fix it after pushing it a couple of KM to the nearest garage, putting my back out again in the process! sometimes it is not your week!
