    Magdeburg fans form arrow to show goal-shy players the way to goal

    Fans of German fourth-tier football team Magdeburg decided some drastic action was needed if their bottom-placed club are to avoid relegation.

    The mis-firing side had not scored in their previous five games.
    So, for Sunday’s clash with Berliner AK ’07, supporters were handed huge arrows to show the players exactly where the goal was.
    They also displayed a giant banner reading 'Wir zeigen euch, wo das tor steht!' meaning 'Don't worry, chaps, we'll show you where the goal is!'

    It worked as they did, indeed, find the net for the first time in 558 minutes through American forward Chris Wright, before eventually going down 2-1 to a last-miute Berliner winner.
    The result means poor Magdeburg remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just 20 points from 25 games and only 16 goals scored all campaign.

    I reckon we just stick a massive pic of mandy's face behind the goal. Everyone on our team will want to smash the ball as hard as possible at it.

    Brilliant. I am dubious that they were German but maybe I've had them all wrong in my assessment of their humour. We'll be doing it for Demba soon! As for Carroll, he'll be like Chops if a chances comes. His inner soul will not allow him to score.
