Nice winner in the bumper. Well done Quel for beating me to the punch. From what I hear they are confident about the one on Saturday and the best bumper in the yard goes to Aintree having missed Sandown and must be backed! I thought FOLIE A DEUX was worth a small handclap fellas but I guess this forum sets such very high standards these days. Nice bet Shearer Cort Given
Stick, what a dreadful race, for me the top weight is most interesting but I refuse to back Ferdy Murphy horses when I don't know whether they are ready for this race. I fear the ground for a good few of these, the one I think has obvious chances is Candlish's horse but it isn't a fluent jumper. If they go a fair pace I think that one will be tough to beat. Dreadful race. Let me get back to the Brocklesby (take a look at the Johnston horse ffs!!)
NASS, I think this Candlish horse stands out in the race and 4-1 is the trigger price. All makes good sense! Aaahhh we love the Brocklesby. My man Bill Turner only has the one entry making it an obvious choice. I like the pedigree of one of the fillies too but they dont have the greatest of records in the race!
Not going to tell you which horse I like for the Brocklesby until the day don't want to spoil it for everyone
Speaking of the Brocklesby,I saw Archers Road, who finished second in it,about 5 weeks ago in a field in a place called Draperstown in NI. He turned out to be a bleeder..his owners, chums of mine, claim the vendors knew...
That Azores looks a right old dog!...I think they may have to go Bellewstown,Wexford,Sligo or Dundalk to get a weak enough maiden for her. Visor and blinkers little use...full blindfold and sat nav the next step. No surprise she is Frozen Fire's half sister. Nite all...footy time.
Receiving best part of 2st. Felt sorry for Crisp as not many people have heard of him. How a specialist 2 miler jumped the entire National course and almost won I don't know.
Is anyone going for the 8:25? Was going for Sunset Kitty but Colour Guard is SO heavily tipped that it's hard not to
Ron, this race was well before my time. But how did Crisp manage to get such a big lead? Did the other jockeys think it had no chance or something? Also do you remember the sp's of the 2 horses? would be interested to know.
Have taken a little play on Andrew Baldings Tartan Trip in the 8.25- his form is better than on first glance and he has all the ability to play a hand in this should Colour Guard fail to shine.
Might be bonkers but I've nibblerd at 70s on the exchanges on MERITO- the PD Evans horse in the lucky last. Well bred, by Exceed and Excel, and interesting upped in trip. Evans has a good record at reviving horses in lower grade handicaps and Matt Cosham has done very well with him and is a handy claim.
