Do you have proof that 'mind-games' have ever worked? Is it not just a case of results on the pitch determine titles/games...United have been the most successful team in recent times, are you dismissing certain achievements of United's teams on the pitch as being the result of a Fergie press-conference, really?

Clearly Fergie's 'mind-games' have backfired a few times...the point is that when he said those things this season they were never reported as 'Fergie loses 'mind-games' war', or stuff like that! A large section of the media and gullible fans believe that for some reason Fergie gains some sort of psychological advantage due to his ramblings...he doesn't, as he has clearly proved this season!

By walking out whilst laughing at the suggestion that United were struggling in Europe this season made Fergie look like a fool, he simply got it wrong...he sometimes gets it right too. That's not being psychologically superior in my book, if he was then surely United would be playing in the CL this week, or even the EL, but they are not...that is why it is a myth!

The media are insects. Mind games is a way of keeping those insects from affecting our player's mind frame. Give them something else to focus on. At the end of the day we know Fergie is willing to create an outrageous scandal (media distraction) to protect his players and keep them focused on the job.

That clown at Anfield just rants and rants. It was ok when they were winning but now it's just ridiculous. His record is tarnished one might say by his stint at Newcastle and his second coming at Liverpool.

Fergie doesnt gain much of an advantage in the mind games. He is just a far superior manager to anyone challenging him.

Fergie's mind games have certainly made Keegan, Wenger and Benitez react and crack at crucial times.

Fergie's mind games also made the United players think that they were not struggling in Europe this year, before spectacularly crashing out to some Swiss side...that's if you believe in mind games that is!

I can see what I wrote, you're new to the forum, have a look at your control panel.

I'm assuming you're from Taunton and as you headed straight for the United board on a wind up I'm also assuming you are number 1 Liverpool fan.
