Our board has always been **** - although it has been busier recently. That's why I posted this thread earlier to try and get some debate going but I think some people either took it as me saying the team are in deline - which I'm not, or went on the defensive with it
I think our board hasn't always been the best tbh. However Eric is right it is busier at the moment and I think it will improve. I also think the demise of cross board threads has dealt a blow to most of the boards on not606. If they are done right these are great. However its when they are used by prats and also linked into the GC then it goes to pot. Give each mod the ability to remove cross board threads and things will improve across the site.

Weren't similar things being said this time in 2006? Back then, we had barely won a trophy for a few years, been doing pretty rubbish in Europe. And look at the team that came out from there. By comparison, things are rosy at the moment!

Err, excuse me. This will NEVER happen. Viv Anderson had a go but the crown belongs to Remi, forever. From someone who has endured many an afternoon in the 80's watching some dross players (combined with some absolute fecking legends of course) this team is positively world class. Not nearly as enjoyable to watch though, not by a stretch. There you go, there's something in decline. The general self depracating gallows humour of matchday. It's all bellends like Berbs now who think they 'deserve' to watch some fancy winning football and sit in silence till they get it because it's all they ****ing know. ****faces.
I thought the mods are kept in the lurch with what happens on the site. Mick is working on the cross board issue and this will allow the mods to remove cross board threads regardless of where they are posted.
Our board on 606 was easily the best, most active and most entertaining. I think the problem with this board is too many threads go off topic, 2 certain members always abusing other users on our board (you know who they are). The board is pretty active at the moment but Matth plays a large part in that.
I dunno about worst - QF of the league cup is pretty much par for the course for our kids, and we definitely had the worst possible FA Cup draw we could've had. And our CL performance wasn't nearly as bad as 94 or 06...
I don't think we are in decline - far from it actually. I was just interested in getting the opinion on why ABUs constantly throw that in our faces (other than it being something for them to hang on to ). I do however think we are missing some creativity in CM
Indeed, winning our first league and cup double with, in my personal humble opinion, one of the very finest United sides ever. It's no real suprise we didn't do well in the european cup considering we hadn't played in it since 1969. We were **** this year despite many years of continual involvement so were way worse than in 94.
Saw this on the Beeb: We are scoring more goals than before but yes according to some this is a poor team. The only difference is we don't play free-flowing football all the time but it seems SAF has set us up in a Catenaccio mode. We do have moments of brilliance but the team's main focus is grinding out results.
