Just equalised against Sheffield United. Its too much to hope for but an eight point lead wpould feel so much more than six......
I'm expecting United to win it, so I'll be very very happy if its a draw. A Chesterfield win is out of the question.
I'm going to ignore the fact that this is a rhetorical question.... 1) Because our defenders constantly hoof the ball upfield. 2) Because our midfield has grown anonymous due to, in my opinion, Danny Hollands tiredness. 3) Because our midfield dynamo who can split defenses with a single pass (Stephens) is being made to play too deep. 4) Because we're not making good use of our wingers.
1)Our defenders keep hoofing it because no-one wants it leaving them no option.. 2Stephens had a good second half against Notts County when he moved further forward and should play instead of Hollands in the advanced role. Pritchard could play the deeper role because whatever his limitations he always wants the ball, and we'd see less hoofing.
FHB, they've been hoofing it to Kermorgant ever since he came in the team. I feel we will tear defenses apart if Stephens is allowed to play the advanced role, but not alongside Hollands for the time being (who needs a rest). I wouldn't want to see Pritchard given the defensive duties. He's alright coming on in the last ten minutes to chase around tired legs, but he's not good enough in the air or solid enough in the tackle to play a defensive midfield role. That I would give to Hughes.
I don't think our play has changed much, just our luck particularly Hamer's. Our position as runaway leaders was a false one, we were never dominating teams the way Brighton did last year. Apart from a run of handsome victories when we had Hughes/Hollands in midfield our games have been pretty tight and it's just needed a change of luck to change a narrow win into a defeat. However I do feel that our midfield problems were ignored because of our terrific back 4 getting the results. Squeak squeak!
That's true I guess FHB, even in the games where we've finished with a high scoreline (I.e Preston at home) we haven't exactly 'dominated' the game, or played the prettiest football. I'd say our team during the first season in League One dominated games a bit more than we're doing at present (at the start of that season at least).
It must be the celery Ybab, just eat it like everybody else ..... no not the celery..... I hate the stuff
