When everyone was packing up instead of packing the cheap tents people were burning them

Dam straight! Or, as i did at Leeds last year, pay about £20 in advance and when you get there pick up your tent/sleeping bags. Saves lugging them around all over the place. Well worth £20 that!

The riots at Leeds are quality, not nasty, just massive fire pits!!

Borrowed a tent from a mate and headed to Reading in 1993. We were one of the first there so we threw the tent up in minutes and then wandered off to drink beer.

Came back later that night and the camp site was now full. We couldn't remember what colour the tent was or whereabouts it was pitched so we wandered around for 3 days tent napping.

Scratch at a tent and if there is no response; climb in.

The owners return to kick you out and as your drunk, looking confused and highly aplogetic they normally don't have any issues with it.

We waited until almost everyone was gone to retrieve my mates tent but it had vanished.

Haha, I don't think I'll be trying that. I might take my Toon flag along and use that to mark my tent.

You should definitely go to download. Music aside it is the best festival (voted so for the last 3 years i think). The stalls are brilliant and not quite as badly priced as others, the facilities are so much better i cannot begin to explain! But most of all the atmosphere is epic! At Leeds it's a lot more like being at school, as in you have groups and there isn't as much mixing, but at download it's almost like everyone assumes your a bit of a goth and are into very similar music, so you can walk along and strike up a conversation with anyone you want!

First time we went about 4 mates came that weren't into Download type music, but because of the atmosphere they left after having had a brilliant time, and like the music now! :emoticon-0178-rock: Got a few more coming this year, so gonna convert them aswell!! <laugh>

You should have made your own thread about this Wein, you'd have got yourself quite a few bonus points.

I'll probably go next year as a few friends wanted to go this year. I like lots of different styles of music though so Reading will be a good mix in my eyes.

I honestly can't wait to see Muse, Enter Shikari, BMTH, The Blackout, Architects, Rise Against, We are the ocean e.t.c. all at one festival. Going to be awesome!

Me & my mates were looking at Friday Reading tickets, not a fan of MCR but the rest of the day should be good! Weekend lineup not so much my cup of tea though.
