Look from now on how about we just keep to our own caption comps! This week has got out of hand but now the dust has settled lets keep each to their own!
Personally I would miss you and Welly making some of your contributions JWM, hence the 1st option. You never know, you could be inducted into the Canary hall of fame if you win one of them
Course you should.... it's all in good spirits! I can see why Guru deleted those posts, the poor sod has to wade through them all to pick a winner. How about we have a rule for both boards that within reason posts on a caption thread have to be on topic and be a caption?
I would love to have a weekly caption competition across both boards but the trouble would come when it comes to judging it! I admit what I did was childish but I was annoyed and it got my monkey up!
Hows about, hows about <best Jimmy Saville voice> both boards DO NOT use pictures of either of our teams or players. We may just then get away from the silliness that could occur.
I like a bit of off-topic stuff, and I'm all for keeping it. I also like how we can be magnanimous enough to have it open to all, unlike the Ipswich one which is insular (no surprise there - anyway it wouldn't win unless it mentions Norwich or Grant Holt, whereas we are capable of more original thought). I agree about keeping it on topic, within reason. I did post a comment on theirs which was off topic, so apologies for that, although it was just a funny comment about something Welly (who can take a joke) said. It was still deleted, hey ho! That's their mods for you.
But, Ipswich or Norwich pictures used in the caption competition have resulted in good natured banter without resorting to abuse in the past. An exampole that I can remember is the picture of the front of a DVD of a cup win for Ipswich. That was all good natured and there was no abuse. Maybe this was just a one off. Don't want to jump the gun on this. If it continues, fair enough. But this is just a one off.
Fair enough but comments about Ipswich fans being Wife Beaters was a bit beyond the pale! Wouldn't you agree?
Was this not the remark made by PC aimed at Jonah? That's an 'in' joke that's been going on for years, back on old 606! It holds no more belief than the Cwick kidnap story!
