This is the worrying part about bates. I guarantee he'll think just being in the Premier League will be enough. As soon as we start asking for Europe and a title challenge he'll shut us down and give us the whole "you're never happy" routine.
How dare we expect European Football!, or by that matter, Premier League Football. We should be happy to be mid table in the Championship Bah
Jeez, you lot are so depressing sometimes. I don't think I belong on NOT606, 'cos I'm an optimist (and probably a stupid old fool to boot). At the Florist game, I truly believed we could win at 6-3, and thought a draw was on at 7-3 (admittedly, I left a couple of minutes later when Paynter came on - a man can only hope so much!). I get the feeling that some on here think that optimists like myself should get lined up & shot for looking forward positively. Perhaps I should pack it in, moan like **** & chant 'BATES OUT' every time I draw a breath? Think back to September 1st. Would you have taken out current league position, if offered? Of course you would - we'd just sold our best striker and were hugely depressed about our prospects!! We're still in with a chance at this point & should be right behind our team. Time to brighten up!! MOT
Absolutely Jock, I agree positivity is the best way to look at things, but at the same time, sometimes you can't help but look and laugh at moments like the forest, blackpool game this season.
In all honesty, I wouldn't have taken this league position. I expected us to be in play-offs around this time and its a hard ask to get in there now, still possible but a hard ask. I thought you were the optimist? did you not expect leeds to do better than a 10th place finish?
In all seriousness, I have no expectations with this ownership. Take each game as it comes, enjoy the wins, hate the losses and move onto the next game whilst marching on together!

I enjoy reading your positive spin on things White Jock but I can understand people taking heart & want out of the equation & seeing us fall short of the play offs. Would I be happy with this position at the start of the season? Nope. We had to do one better than last term at least. Making the play offs isnt a banker we get promoted anyway, you know we are going to have to do that via autos! I can only blame Bates for this mess. I dont believe a word about Gradels sale & our complete lack of ambition let Howson/Johnson go, Redfearn wasnt up for the challenge (even though I think Bates sacked SG when he did to give Redders an easy run on paper) and Grayson did a brave job with limited resources. Keep the faith though White Jock, I really hope your saying I told you so in the near future buddy
Exactly - how do you think these players would perform the way the game is played now? Football used to be a mans game - now the tough tackling hard as nails players are a almost non-existent. Can you name 1 current Premier League player that would fancy his chances in a 50/50 with any of those 4?
But like was already said, protest on 13th of August because we're not happy with our transfer activity, 2 weeks later we sell one of our best players. They didn't even give us the "it was good business" line because they wanted to be seen as victims.
Karl Henry puts himself about as well. The way FIFA and the FA have cleansed proper tackles out of the game to make it prettier for the TV and drain even more passion from the supporters is shocking. Add to that the media portraying any hard-tackler as a psychopathic untermensch and crying every time someone breaks their leg on the pitch (the horror!) and it's pretty obvious what their strategy is.
Good post - the leadership has no credibility. The vast majority of true fans want the club to succeed at every opportunity despite the ownership. Most of us want to get into the playoffs this season but don't believe it is doable. More alarming are those fans who say that IF we make the playoffs and IF we get promoted then we should all be happy and not worry about the ownership. The reality is that the ownership is a cancer eating out the heart and soul of the club. The patient may look great and is walking around enjoying success but that does not mean that the cancer has abated. It continues to do its damage - silently and invisibly.
You've got to laugh at some if the ****e posted on here. You revel in your deluded idea of how hard you are but cry like a bunch of ****ing women when someone gives you a bit back. Example being when Ashbee gave Becchio a little dig. Boo hoo. Look what the nasty man did. What a set of hypocritical **** wits and for the record Billy Whitehurst would knack any of the players you care to mention. Michael Brown ???? FFS please tell me you're kidding.
**** off soldier boy you ****ing tosser. and for the record, Billy whitehurst was a soft **** who thought he was a big mister
Hey Jonny, this could be a good thread - a bit like our caption competitions. I'll start with Numpty ****wit Number 1. (Pathetic, but it's a start!).
