Could it be written in the stars. Last night Boro only drew at Ipswich, Forest held lesta to a goalless draw and Portsmouth beat hull. This means that all teams exept Birmingham have played 39 (Birmingham have played 38). We are still only 3 points away from the play offs, albeit our gd is terrible. I think we should ban the P word. When we talk about it, we lose the next name.....
yes the teams around us are wobbling too which obviously does us favours...old cliche tho is take it a game at a time..
Watford H Reading A Derby H Peterborough H Blackpool A Cardiff A Leicester H Not an easy match in the run in. I think we should beat Watford Peterborough & Leicester but all our away games are tricky & a few 6 pointers in the mix as well. Reading & Blackpool will make or break our season IMO. I can see us finishing on 70 points which I dont think will be enough. Crazy league though, so who knows! Morning all BTW
Bucks, I reckon 71 points will be the cut off, though with us, we will need 72 because of our goal difference. Can anyone tell me what our aWAy stats are, compared to our home form
Yep, or no deal IF we did make the play offs you would expect us to have made it by the skin of our teeth which would put us up against the 3rd place team. I would much prefer to face West Ham over the two legs as there home record isnt great & I think the pressure will get to them. That being said we dominated against Reading at ER & was very unlucky not to get all 3 points. Of course they may well batter us at there place, but I would still rather take on West Ham.
We have been very poor this season and won so many matches when we havent deserved to, its a good job cos we could be down near bottom (seriously) how silly is it that we could still go up.
Crazy league eh? Not many teams have shown true quality. Got to hand it to Southampton though, they've been good from the start & wont lose Auto's now.
Our home form as seen as pick up just 27 points which leaves us 19th in the table. Away from home we've obviously picked up 30 points which is tied with Southampton in 4th. With Reading away in between home games against Watford, Derby and Posh teams all below us in the league we need to win 3 in a row at home to give us a chance of the playoffs.
I still see play-offs as a huge ask, IF we beat watford and results go our way again I may start believing once more
Play-offs are still a big ask, but I'm getting more optimistic by the day. Their are 21 points still to play for, and things are still in our hands.
Afternoon all. Late on parade. Allowing work to get in the way of playtime. Disgraceful, I hear you shout. Boggers out I hear someone shout from a distance away. Yes auto may have allded us this season, but top 6 is just about dooable. Still too close to call, but we will need to get something from games against those sides currently above us, particularly Reading & Cardiff. It could come down to the home match against Leicester. Let's hope Beckford fractures an eyelash & is unavailable. In Colin we trust. Keep the faith. MOT
No need to worry about other results, it's in our hands. Beat Watford and we'll go into the Reading game knowing a win would definitely put us in a play off spot, albeit temporarily as we kick off before the other teams. What an incentive that would be. Scrape a win at Reading and we go into two very winnable home games. So 12 points from the next 4 games would put us on 69 points going into the tough away games at Blackpool and Cardiff. Four points from those two would mean we go into the last game home to Leicester on 73 points. It's certainly achievable, law of averages means we have to string a few results together at some point this season surely.
Jesus christ, that is optimistic. I struggle to see us winning 5 or 6 in a row (including the millwal game)
The way I see it, for every game we win, we will catch up the top six by a point, therefor it will take us 4 wins in a row (due to our gd) to get into a play off space
