The thing is, Marko, that even on the patient's best days, the cancer continues to destroy from within, albeit silently and invisibly. I think I just depressed myself....
It wasn't a question mate, just an opinion, although not going on Ja606 very much, i haven't seen anyone following Bates blindly, but i still think most leeds fans know he is ripping us, and the club off. Anyhow, looks like no one wants to be in the playoffs the way the results are going lately
Spare yourself the ordeal, there are many there that are supportive of him. Chokers/fixture congestion getting to them? I still think there is too much between us to get there with not enough games/time to do it. We'll soon see and know.
I agree, we've got some difficult games to come, , and f we did, could you stand the heartache, of losing again, or even the slight possibility of winning them and getting thrashed every week in the prem because of lack of investment
RIght little ray of sunshine aren't u Johnny? I think if by some miracle we were to get in the premier league, we wouldn't get thrashed, their would surely be no way that Bates couldn't invest some of the however many million he will get for it
LAC! Sounds like you may have gotten too much sun down under, mate! "... no way that Bates..." have you forgotten who we are talking about here?
Top thread Billy I would like to think he'd invest money into the squad but it would still take a manager who knows what type of players he wants and build a hard working team rather than have individual skill in players. I doubt we would see any 'luxury' players bought. What I would be interested in is whether Bates would sack Warnock if we were to be promoted. I seriously think either he'd be sacked or he'd walk, he's known to fail in the prem previously
To be hone QPR didnt give him a fair crack at it. i would be happy to see him stay if he gets promoted, worst case scenario we get relegated back, we would be in the same position we are in now, except with parachute payments
Yeah this is the same Bates who sees protests on August 13th and then by August 31st decides to sell Gradel. If that wasn't bad enough and the fact that we were out of the playoffs well off the auto promotion race he then decides to sell Howson because it was "good business" in January.
What has stopped you up to now? Just kidding, Josh, but you invited that one! You have raised an interesting question that I am confident many others have been thinking of already. Good times ahead, we hope.
Who would he get Josh, would he go for a manager who needs millions to get a team challenging for the title, which is what most of the "top" managers have to do these days, i think he'd be happy with Warnock making the numbers up in the prem
He wouldn't need to be sacked; we'd just let him walk without renewing his contract. The fact it's only 18 months long suggests to me that Bates predicted we'd fall short of the playoffs this season, get promoted next and then appoint someone with more top flight know-how than Warnock has. I'm pretty sure Bates could have handed him a two-and-a-half-year one and he'd have signed it. Ultimately, you've got to be brutal sometimes. Grayson was a top manager and will always be remembered as a hero, but we could upgrade from a standard Nokia to a snazzy new iPhone, and that's what we did. Likewise, when the iPhone that is Neil Warnock gets dated, we'll get the next model and hopefully stick with him for a long time to come.
Let's hope its not a BlackBerry! To be fair, I still have one and really enjoy it! I woul dhave loved to be at that table in Monaco, or close enough to overhear that part of the conversation. "So how long will the contract be for...?"
No chance of too much sun johnny the weather is ****e down here. Im a great believer in showing loyalty to a manager, if he gets you promoted, he deserves a fair crack at keeping u up.
They're great if you have fingers two millimetres wide! I'm sure Bates will have sarcastically rolled something out about not wanting to tie Warnock down for too long if this is his fourth "last challenge".
