The player has surprisingly been recalled before the end of his loan period to Watford - http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2697256,00.html Since he's a natural winger, does this mean that Jol will try him to see if we can get more width in games ? Indeed, given that Frei started last night, does it mean we will see more of the youngster's in the rest of the season.
I hate you for this!!! He was working wonders for us and gave us a great attacking threat! He was a wonderful guy and he will almost certainly go on to bigger and better things if you manage him well. I wish him the best of luck in the future and hope that maybe one day he might grace the Vicarage road turf again.
This was posted by a Watford fan on one of their forums regarding us recalling Kaka. "Still I hope Al fughead stops bankrolling you and you go back to being a third tier nothing of a team with no support soon!" Talk about being petty. They think we recalled him because we were bitter about Trotta not being played. You should be grateful we gave you Kaka in the first place, from what I have seen and heard, he was one of your best players.
Bandit perhaps you should read Dans post above yours Alex was good skilful if a little inconsistent , He defo has the talent , I think Jol was being petty in this recall as I strongly believe it would have benefited Alex to have stayed for the last month or two as a regular player ,reather than a bit part player or bench warmer at fulham ! I think that unless Jol is going to play him and give him a decent run of games then the recall is detrimental to his development and smacks of a petulant manager recalling his player because another of his players was returned for being late to training on a few occasions, discipline is a big part of Dyches Watford and that is what young Rodders fell foul of!
How do you know that Kaka isn't going to be used? Trotta came back and was instantly on the bench for the Utd game.
The reason Trotta was not used was simply because our other strikers have hit a small patch of form. So unfortunately we preferred to stick with the status quo. He was unlucky with it. However IF Jol recalled him for any reason other than to play him then i think its very unfair on him and us.
I don't think any of us can honestly say why Kaka has been recalled, maybe Jol will use him and maybe he won't. Maybe we pulled him back because of Trotta, maybe not. Thank you for doing a good job with Kaka, an experience I'm sure will stand him in good stead for his future with us
Linking this with all the rumours about Demps, Dembele, contracts etc I would not be surprised if that might be a form of pressure but also a chance for the youngsters to show their potential. Better see what we have in store as stock before ordering more. Good think is that if he can't cut it we might have a buyer!
Hopefully this is part of Jol's plans to play youth in the remaining fixtures. Briggs, Trotta, Frei, Kasami and Kacaniklic should all get some game time now.
You are welcome. If you have any more like him up your sleeves just send them our way. We have done a good job of the 50 academy players to graduate our Herefield academy. Ashley Young (man u), Adrian Marriappa, Chris Eagles(Bolton) and now Kacaniklic are shining examples.
There are a handful of Fulham youth players who really could do with a loan spell in the Championship such as Briggs, Kasami, LDV and Burn. Wouldn't be too surprised to see another sent your way considering how Kaka has fared. Good luck for the rest of the season.
Let's not forget that Kaka has always been a Fulham player. He was only ever on loan at Watford, and the recall clause was there for all to see. Jol was totally within his rights to use it as he sees fit. If it was some form of bizarre swipe to get one up on Watford for not playing Trotta, then why did he recall Trotta first? Why not recall Kaka before or at the same time? Think about it. The only petulant one is yourself for coming on here crying about us recalling our own player. I know he was doing well for you, but he is our player. Good luck for the rest of the season, and nice one babyhornetdan
I don't think Big Mart would have had a problem with the discipline at Watford. Earlier in the season he fined at 19 year old £500 for missing a penalty in a Carling Cup match! He's always said that it's better for young players to be gaining first team experience than in the reserves at Fulham, and we've seen several going out on loan this season. I doubt it's Jol being petty - the recall clause was 24 hours so could have come at any point. The fact that he's done it three days before we play Norwich at home suggests to me that Kacaniklic is going to play some part at the weekend. Otherwise what's the point?
My gut instinct is that the likes of Davies, Dempsey and Duff could well be on their way come the end of the season, and if such occurrences happen, Jol would like to bleed through a possible replacement using the remaining games of this season, we are practically safe from relegation after all. You can see he's doing this with Frei also.
Agree with you here Bandit. This summer could see the biggest overhaul of the squad since Sanchez's brief reign, although hopefully without the same near-catastrophic results!
Thaks to Watford for playing him, he did very well by all accounts. MJ is definitely going to play him. My mates mum's best friends uncle who drinks at the same pub as the yoga instructors boyfriend told him me he would! More seriously though, MJ needs to evaluate what he's got before he decides to cash in on Demps and let the others go. COYW
Hahaha too true fulhamish, although I'm sure Jol's scouting knowledge goes slightly further than the Championship and every Jack Dick and Harry who has ever pulled on a Northern Ireland shirt. In brighter news, an article from a London newspaper I read this morning expects Kaka to be involved against Norwich, probably on the bench. Good times!
Surely the bottom line is that he is a left winger, with pace, who can beat his man on the outside and get the ball over. Something that has been sadly lacking all season. Importantly, this has been especially true in the last 3 games - just ask the Pog. The poor guy has not had one pass/cross while facing the opposition goal in any of these games.
We knew he was a Fulham player and we understand that. We have not disputed that he was wrong to recall him. It just seemed a little odd and the cynics were questioning whether it was done simply for the fact that Trotta did not get to play. However, we know its unlikely (outside Alex Ferguson). Trotta was not re-called, his loan simply expired. I got to speak to him after the game and asked him when he thought he might get back in the squad and he simply said "my loan is up". So i wished him luck and he signed my shirt and left. He did fantastically well. I did not realise that he had not played a single professional game before his debut.
