Plan ahead, what a strange concept Simply I cannot plan at all I have to wait till the roster is released then try and book flights to visit Mrs PSH, which is generally 6 weeks in advance, which means I cannot really take advantage of the cheaper flights on offer which is a bit of a downer! I don't want to waste my leave when I know that there will be a at least a 4 day standown period between the shifts! So I have to just go along with it!
I can understand your frustration about the flights especially with all the tax they charge. I've been offered vol redundancy today which is a very good offer, I have till Friday to accept or turn down the offer. That would certainly give me plenty of free time. Thing is, do I jump or carry on for another 4 and a bit years. I'll ask the wife but I can see she will have it spent before I get it.
Voluntary redundancy is a hard one, do you stay or do you go? Would the package really compensate you for the time you have given the company and what are the chances of another similar job coming along before the money has gone? So many questions. The powers that be will not help out with benefits until this money is gone so be warned. I have had two compulsory redundancies (one justified, the company closed, and one political within the company, we must be seen to get rid of someone from that group, the second still upsets me after nearly 10 years). I was lucky enough the first time I was made redundant to walk into a new job within days, but the second time was a complete nightmare - two years it took to find another suiable job, what I do is quite specialised, although I had little jobs in between. I really do not envy you Charlie.
Bloody typical, as soon as we get a bit of quality on loan and looking good, they get recalled - Alex Kacaniklic has gone back to Foolham... My company have been offering VERY good voluntary redundancy/early retirement package for a few years, but they are pulling back on them and changed the early retirement pension policy to really cane you if you want to take early retirement - they will claw back 4% for each year you retire early. Used to offer 3 weeks salary per year worked as a redundancy sweetener as well - bloody typical, I need a few more years so I am sure I will miss out!
Well I have been lucky so far that my trade has never had any redunancies within the RAF one of the few that have got away with it. The last tranche last month, we had a few who had heard on the QT that we were liable for some but not one was announced. I thought I was in trouble with my arthritis as they can bin you because of your Medical Category, again luckily they still want me For which I really am truly thankful
Jon North suspect broken leg/knee damage this evening for the stones , Get well soon son I know he aint on our books now but he used to be .
Love this quote from SSN re Walsall vs Colchester - "Mat Sadler marauding down the left wing like a madman scores his first goal in 220 league appearances". How did we ever get conned into thinking he was a footballer?
He did a really good impression of the invisible man, opposition right wingers must have thought that we had a back 3 every time Sadler was playing.
â¢Premier League: £22,353 per week â¢Championship: £4,059 per week â¢League One: £1,410 per week â¢League Two: £747 These are the average wages paid to players last season. When you compare the vast differences between each division it is understandable that the chance to move up is not to be sniffed at.
In fairness Man City will be in League One in six or seven years. Come on, nobody really believes that it can ever be happily ever after for Man City... or do they?
