It was what he done on the ball that impressed me. For too long Rangers have been missing a player who can play passes with both feet, and actually get the ball to another player in the same team be it over 5 yards or 50 yards. His positioning when Celtic had possession was good as well. If Ness gets fit again we could have Ness and McCabe sitting deeper with Davis in front, where he is much more effective. And he's Scottish
It's not just about the position he played, for his age he handled the occasion brilliantly. It was only his 3rd first team game for Rangers and it's in an old firm game, he put some of Celtic's 'old heads' to shame with his performance and how calm he was throughout
So if he's so good where has he been hiding? What does it say for McCoist that while Edu and a few others have been honking all season this new wunderkind has been kicking his heels in the reserves?
Nobody is calling him a "wunderkid", we're saying he played well in an old firm game. The pressure of an old firm game can get to some players, he didn't show any nerves today It doesn't really say anything for McCoist that we've only just started to see McCabe. Sometimes it takes having a few injuries and suspensions to unearth a gem in the youth squad. If we have everyone fit, would he be a starter? Probably not, but we now know of him and that he's more than capable of coming in when needed
one game wonder, over-reaction to a decent performance in a game that the ref decided to kill after half an hour sitting in front of the defence against a non existant attack rhys mccabe...al crack the jokes greg wylde anyone
