Anyone going? I had intended to although for work and other reasons couldn't commit in advance. I therefore didn't buy a ticket but assume that these can be bought on the door. Enthusiasm for it has waned a bit in recent days and don't know if I can be bothered. Good opportunity to see some of the kids and to get a feel for Dartford and their new ground which I have never been in despite the fact that I can (just about) walk it there! Looks like being a lovely evening so I'll see how work goes during the day and I might stroll along.
My non-league team is Welling so Dartford had better catch Woking because Welling are going to win the play-offs
My non-league team is the mighty Brimsdown Rovers, now known as Enfield(1893)FC. They were formed in 1947 (a great year) and a young David Beckham was the Under14s captain for two years. One day I will buy the club out of the clutches of Enfield FC and restore them to their rightful place within the football pyramid.
One point of interest tonight is that, according to the OS, we might see "the likes of ... Mikel Alonso." (Mark Ritson is losing his touch - "the likes of ..." only appears three times in his piece today). Now "the likes of ..." means something that is like the thing or person named but is not necessarily that thing or person itself. Any chance of a guest appearance by Xabi Alonso tonight? Because I have long given up hope of seeing his brother Mikel again.
I'm hoping to go but not sure if tickets can be bought on the gate! EDIT - Just looked at charlton twitter page and says tickets can be bought on the gate looks like i'll be going
My local team is Gosport Borough, currently utilising the services of one Steve Claridge . However, there is talk of Portsmouth muscling their way in next season to play their games there in what is likely to be the Southern Conference.
Should be a cracking game tonight, with Dartford on top of their game and Charlton free to blend the best of our youth with experience. Sure Hayes will get a start tonight and hopefully Pritchard as well. Hayes and Sho-Silva up front? You never know. COYR!
Well I'm not there but according to twitter.. Alonso is playing (chance for him to take Russell's place on the bench Saturday) and Pope has been forced into a great save from a 20yard free kick Oh and Dartford have just scored 1-0 Oopps and customary to our Kent Senior Cup exploits its 1-1 (Azeez)
Finished 3-1 to Dartford, early goal in the second half made it 2-1 then they got the third in the last couple of mins, appears the Dartford keeper went off with a dislocated shoulder. Would be interested to hear how Alonso go on?
Not great considering we had quite a strong team out. Evina, Pritchard, Hughes, Euell, Cousins and Alonso all started
We were truly awful, all of the senior players, with the possible exception of Pritchard, were terrible.I can see a big clear out in the Summer.Players to go Euell,Tosan Popo,Bover,Alonso,Doherty,Warren,Clarke. Our second string are just not good enough,we need to bring in a few quality signings, especially as we are going to be in the Championship.
Can't argue with the names that you've mentioned. I also think some other players who haven't made many appearances, and carry a transfer fee (Evina etc) will also go. We don't need to have a squad this bag - we don't utilise it!
Clarke opened his account for Crawley last night - let's hope that goes some way to persuading them to take him off our hands permanently.
