Former French international striker Djibril Cisse was suspended for four matches on Monday dealing a huge blow to his Premier League side Queens Park Rangers hopes of retaining their elite status. The 30-year-old - who arrived from Serie A side Lazio in January - received the ban for his straight red card for a vicious tackle on Sunderland's Fraizer Campbell in Saturday's 3-1 loss. It is the second time that Cisse has been sent-off in the short spell he has been with the club, though, the former Liverpool and Auxerre star has also scored three times in five matches. QPR - who sacked manager Neil Warnock earlier this season and replaced him with Mark Hughes who spent heavily in January - are third from bottom with just eight matches remaining.
Good Skills on the maths: 8 over 4 =2 I make that as 2 is half of four which is 50% which is half he not available for four of the remaining 8 games: He will sadly miss the away games to Chesterfield and Crewe and at home the game against Burton Albion and the competitive derby against The Felixstowe Dancers
When you went into Purgatory Frank, did they remove all commas and full stops from your computer keyboard, only leaving you the colons? It is certainly a strange form of hell you live in!
Probability hasn't been factored into this. Cisse gets sent off on average every 2.5 games. He scores 0.6 goals per game. I would expect him to score 1.5 goals against either Spurs or Chelsea, totally screwing up the Betfair markets, and then get sent off either side of half-time against Stoke. Hope this helps.
That is assuming the feckin ejit doesn't get sent off during his first game back. Don't hold your breath.
We have also won 50% of our last 2 games, if we keep going at that rate I reckon it could be enough to keep us up!
I'll take that. Incidentally, most of his subsequent ban would carry over until next season so wouldn't impact our run in so much.
Christ on a bike. I was entertaining clients at OT last night, we've got no chance although I found the pumpkin seed and seared chard gnocchi excellent with a very nice pinot noir. Sammy McIlroy is dead boring though and Norman Whiteside needs to join weightwatchers fast. Up the R's!
