Drenthe misses tonights game due to family reasons. Pienaars cup tied, so Everton are gona be forced to make a few changes!
I heard this earlier on, then read somewhere else (SSN I think) that he'll be making a return tonight. Hope your right fella, Drenthe is very unpredictable and someone I'd very much like to not be on tonights teamsheet.
From The Guardian The replay is Everton's sixth game in 17 days, a gruelling spell that has so far yielded wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea, defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal plus the draw with Sunderland at Goodison. Moyes again spoke of the Premier League "being hard on Everton this year, that's for sure" but refused to elaborate on grievances that exceed the current fixture congestion. "There's no doubt it will affect the squad but we just have to get on with it," said the Everton manager, whose midfield options are seriously reduced by injury to Jack Rodwell and Seamus Coleman plus the ineligibility of Steven Pienaar. Royston Drenthe will also miss a second game in succession for what Moyes described as "a family situation. I have given him some compassionate leave." Just want Cahill & Fellaini(sp) to go missing as well
Apparently Osman is out for tonight - who are they going to have falling over and screaming in the box if both Drenthe and Osman are out?? Also their fans think Osman will not be missed - but all of the national press think he is the best uncapped midfielder in England?? So if Drenthe, Osman and Pienarr are unavailable - we only have to hope Cahill and Baines get injured!!! Can I just say that is bollocks - he rested 7 first teamers against Liverpool in that "gruelling schedule" in order to concentrate on the game with us in the FA Cup so it's not really that gruelling for most of the players - they have only played 1 game more than us in the last 17 days and, as I said, they played a reserve side!
Would it not be worthwhile sticking Elmo on and getting him to take Cahill out in the 1st minute. Then sub him if he doesn't get sent off. LOL
From Sky Sports Sunderland vs Everton Sunderland v Everton Preview Both sides see the FA Cup as their last chance of silverware this season Last updated: 27th March 2012 .. Sunderland will face Everton for a place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at the Stadium of Light Everton have got their eyes firmly set on a first FA Cup semi-final with Liverpool since 1977 but standing in their way are a Sunderland side rejuvenated under boss Martin O'Neill. There was little to choose between the sides in their first meeting with a goal from Tim Cahill midway through the first half cancelling out the opener from Sunderland's Phil Bardsley. Full-back Bardsley is likely to feature this time around too as both he and winger Sebastian Larsson are both fit again following illness. O'Neill will welcome back skipper Lee Cattermole from suspension, though, but will have to do without John O'Shea and Kieran Richardson who are out with calf problems along with long-term defensive absentees Wes Brown (knee) and Titus Bramble (Achilles/calf). History Sunderland have failed to beat Everton in their last 16 meetings, although they will take heart from the fact their last win against them was at the Stadium of Light in December 2001 when Claudio Reyna scored the only goal late on. But Everton will want to face their bitter rivals Liverpool in the last four and get a chance to avenge the 3-0 drubbing when the two met in the league recently. Boss David Moyes has few injury problems to hamper his team selection, but he will have to do without tricky midfielder Steven Pienaar who is cup-tied and so Darron Gibson is expected to keep his place in the side. Jack Rodwell (hamstring) and Seamus Coleman (thigh) are doubtful and will face late fitness tests ahead of the game while midfielder Royston Drenthe is likely to be refreshed after being rested for Everton's 2-0 win at Swansea on Saturday..
Karigyos should mark Cahill, just the type of player we have needed. Go 4-4-2 Bring back Seb. Mig. Bardo, Turner, Karigyos, Bridge, Mclean, Seb, Sess, Colback, Frazer, Bendtner.
Id agree that osman may be the best uncapped player in the country. Im not focusing on Everton though as I think if we play well we are the better team and will win the match. Can't wait, night matches have a extra bit of atmosphere usually so im expecting something we haven't felt for years tonight. Its going to be electrifying. If we score first the roof will come off
Osman isn't injured or out. Drenthe might be a miss. He's too unpredictable, he could have scored a few or he could have spent most of the game on his arse. Anichebe/Gueye and Osman on the wings anyway. Anichebe is ****e. But then again so is Shola Ameobe
