We seem to be playing better this season with full or almost full houses - why doesnt the club think about making the Wycombe game a 10 pound game? - i know it may well have a good crowd anyway, but just might need that extra bit from the crowd to see us over the line. I notice online that there are few tickets left for the last game of the season v Pools, and that the Walsall game is over easter anyway, so the only game that needs a bit of ooomph is the Wycombe one to me.
Because season ticket holders would have every right to get annoyed if there were too many cheap ticket offers.
I dont think season ticket holders would give a toss if it meant extra help and 3 points in our time of need.
I'm a season ticket holder and personally I'd be very annoyed if it would have been cheaper for me to have paid for every game individually. Personally I'm not a fan of the 'promotional offer' days anyway, minus the beauty of seeing a packed-out Valley, I'm not sure there are many other bonus'.
Surely the 'bonus' is potentially 3 points - ie you see Wolves and West Ham at home next season or would you rather keep everyone out and watch Crawley and Cheltenham next season ???!! It must a no-brainer ?! I really cant believe your logic !!
Logic? You're assuming that we will not win without a full crowd and we're guaranteed a win with one. Both are terrible assumptions.
Of course there isnt any assumption - how can there be ?? - But surely, if you were to ask any season ticket holder ... would they be prepared to let people in at cut price to try to HELP us MAYBE get 3 points in a time when we would really need them, then , surely, they would bite your hand off - i know i would. In actual fact, i would happily pay any money for a ticket right now if i thought it would help us in our quest. Wouldnt you? or would you rather say no, dont let people in cheap because i feel im being short-changed. Tell you what, there wont be much of a queue to see Cheltenham at home next season, and there certainly wont be any cheap tickets should we be playing West Ham - what would you prefer? and any help that can be given to try to ensure the latter is priceless at this moment in time - surely?.
There doesn't seem to be any correlation between crowd sizes and results. Of course if we were more likely to gain three points by having bigger crowds then I wouldn't mind, but there's absolutely no evidence to suggest it is the case. Thus, given the choice of watching us win/draw/lose against Wycombe in my normal seat, or watching us win/draw/lose against Wycombe a few seats along, after being shifted there by some incompetent fool going on about how rubbish Charlton are, and comparing every shot to one they saw on telly the other week by Steven Gerrard/Peter Crouch/Didier Drogba, then I'd definitely go for the former.
But they dont help us all they do is sit there in silence all game and then bugger off early - Might as well get a load of cardboard cutouts to fill the Valley but keep it from the players...
We've had two promotions against Chesterfield(?) and Stevenage, plus the £10 tickets for the Hartlepool game if ordered in March - thats enough for the season IMO.
Dont forget the offers where if you were a Season Ticket Holder you could get someone in for £10 (those specials I have to admit I dont mind)
Good point! I don't mind a promotion, but the club have done their bit this season. Time for some of the fans who haven't been attending since our demise to cough up if they want to see CAFC play again.
Quite right. Two reductions a season is quite enough. It's good to see the valley full but the fact that most of the extras are day trippers takes the shine off. Absolutely no correlation between attendances and performances. As a (new) season ticket holder I'd be very miffed if there were more than a couple of these offer a season.

I must admit that I am not a great fan of the promo-matches, but I have taken advantage of the Hartlepool offer. My daughter's birthday is on the 22nd May and she wanted to have her friends join her at The Valley instead of having a conventional party. Therefore, I will be driving six of her friends to the game and then on to Pizza Hut after. They have all been before and love it! The things that a Dad has to do, eh?
As a season ticket holder I am in favour promo matches if the club either limits them so they don't undermine my season ticket value or they incentivise me in other ways. The club should look into this with the use of some of the excess vouchers in the season ticket book to enable a free programme or a free pint of beer/ free pie in surrender for one of the vouchers that would be in the book. The additional revenue that the cheap days generate more than covers the cost of the savings otherwise they wouldn't do it. So if they want to do more then they have to give a little bit of extra value to season ticket holders by a different route. I expect my next season ticket to have even more vouchers in to enable this to happen (are you receiving this in Floyd Road????)
This sounds an extremely good idea actually - As season ticket holders it seems that we pay our money at the start of the season and thats it, no thank you or anything... After Stevenage I looked into the prices and if you went to every game this season paying for each game you'd be forking out about £500 in the most expensive areas, its not something someone is going to do but at least those fans seem to get thought of more
