I think its time to forget the missing few and concentrate on the attending majority.
I remember so vividly the 92 quarter final replay v Chelsea and the incredible atmosphere (one of the best ever at Roker in my time) and I can only echo and paraphrase something Shakespeare said in Henry V to those stay-away fans tomorrow.
"From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,

That fought with us upon Quarter Final day"
I would hate it in years to come when asked about the incredible 2012 Cup run and the Everton replay, to admit I wasn't there when I could easily have made it. For those unlucky through financial or work related reasons to miss it I empathise. To those who cant be arsed and think £20 is too rich, I pity you.
You have missed an opportunity to be part of the fine historic fabric of this great football club, in an unbelievable roller coaster season.
I'll be there and I cant wait.

As I stated earlier in this thread, I checked the stadium plan and I reckon we are heading for a crowd of over 44,000, which isn't too bad for a Tuesday night game which is on live terrestrial TV...
Like you marra, I'm well up for this one and I'm now counting down the hours..

Most of our lot at work are going anyhow & my besest Mag marra at work is off on his jollies.
They've ****ed my shifts around that's why I'm having bother.
Can't even watch it on telly & have no means of recording it.
I expect at least 45,000 but it really should be a sell out. Everton are bringing 7.000 and filling the South stand and it will fell full with a cracking atmosphere.
I am with Cest and am more in tune with those going rather than those who wont, and I mean wont not cant. The Joe's and Billy's cant be lumped in with those who just cant be bothered.

Completely agree with you and a nice concise way of putting it, I have a problem with the WONT. IM sure we have all at one time had to miss a game due to work, family etc perfectly understandable.
I know fans that turned their backs but have started creeping back and one who rangled a ticket for the derby when other much more deserving fans missed out.
Id be delighted obviously but it'd be bittersweet if we got to wembley and I couldnt be there.
This with bells on!! If these people who "love their club when it suits them" get a ticket before myself (or most of the posters on here who appear to be genuine fans - people like syd, JVJ, teesside, raw, cest etc.) I'd be pretty upset to say the least. I am on holiday in Cornwall on cup final day - Wembley is (bar about 4 miles) almost right in the middle of here and where I'm staying so the journey will be almost the same distance - although the missus won't be too chuffed!!!!!!
*** By the way - you don;'t have to be a Season Ticket holder to be a genuine fan - different people have different ideas on this but if you work away or have financial constraints (like a newborn like I had last season) then you can still genuinely support the side without getting a season ticket
I agree I dont have a season card as we havew two kids at uni and that is costing an arm and a leg! However I have been able to get to 10 home games this year and as I dont have a fixed seat it means that I can get two seats together when my son comes up from uni rather than him being miles away in the ground.
On that basis I would hope to get a ticket if we get through especially as I have been to all of the home cup ties.
I have little or indeed no time for those who link season tickets and real fans. I have a season ticket now but for many years did not and did not go to all the games.
I am on my own now, son is grown up and a few wives long gone, no work so I can be selfish and make my season ticket number one priority. It was not always the case but it never diminished my love for Sunderland.

I wont be renewing the bairns & mine for next season purely due to the fact that more Saturdays will be worked.
I will however go when I can.
As for the possibility of reaching the final, well I wont even make an attempt to get tickets as due to poor health & a while on the sick I've not made many games.
Priority should quite rightly be given to those who go home & away every week.
I do however, have a few places in London I can bunk down for free in, so may just go for the weekend anyhow.

Sad reality is though Billy - while you understand that Season ticketers and home and away fans should be prioritised, Wembley stadium capacity is 90000 and Liverpoool have been given 31000for the semi - we will probably get the same - so there'll be 28000 tickets going to non-fans - this (IMO) is a disgrace - if they reserved 10000 - 15000 for non-fans and gave 75-80000 to the clubs then majority of the season ticket holders would be able to have a chance of a ticket - but they haven't - we have about 34000 season ticket holders I believe and Liverpool between 35 and 40k - so why not split 80000 down the middle and give everyone an equal chance instead of making people queue for hours to get a ticket!
I was speaking to a lad at work the other day who has got a season ticket for next year as he thinks it will prioritise him for the cup game - he has been to 3 games this season and only 1 last and was indeed one of the "I'll never go back" clan from the 15 point season - he is a "mature" student (he's mid 20's) and lives at home - also earns a lot of money as a pro singer (similar to myself only he makes a lot more than I do) - he can sit out and wait for tickets to get to the front of the queue wheras I have to take time off work to do that which I can't afford - I'd rather see my ticket go to you than him Billy! (although it is going to me!! - Sorry mate!) PROPER fans (and I would class you in that bracket Billy) should get the tickets - not these part timers who think they should get it - just wish the club could ensure this happened

Very good point Marcus, there may well be many fans who aren't SCH who have been to more games than some who are, never thought of it like that before.
And the club wouldn't know how many times a bloke had been if he just walks into the ticket office before every game & just hands over his cash.
If, sorry, when we win tonight I will be on the site first thing looking for a ticket and will literary cry if I don't get one.

I thought that for the semi finals it was split much better? I understand that the scum FA **** up the showpiece domestic final by ruining genuine fans chances of going to finals and fill the pockets of the touts (and their own via the touts) but not the semis? When they were at old trafford or hillsborough, there were only fans of the 2 teams involved in my experience?
Both Sunderland or Everton and Liverpool should get 40,000 each for the semi finals imo and so should both finalists. That would leave 10,000 for the ****ers at the FA to divvy us between themselves.

A £10 concession off each price will be available to juniors aged 16 years and under and over 65s
The club will organise the sale to ensure that tickets at each price point will be available at each stage of the sale; please note that tickets are available on first come first serve basis and we cannot guarantee that the price of ticket that you wish to purchase will be available.
We have also received an allocation of 100 Wheelchair disabled tickets priced at £30 together with 100 Personal Assistant free of charge.
Our Official Travel Partner, Thomas Cook Sport is offering travel packages for the FA Cup semi-final. Return coach travel from Anfield to Wembley start from £37 per person and return train travel from Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston plus an underground travel card from £75 per person.

You will be required to register your interest in purchasing a ticket between 1pm on Tuesday 27th March and 5pm on Friday 30th March

I remember the Bury game a few years ago when we won 5-2 and got promoted - I took a sicky - phoned my boss (who was also working that shift) and said I wasn't well - then bumped into him outside the ground!! He'd also taken a sicky so it wasn't as bad - just a pity that the camera followed us back from the kiosk to where we were standing and one of the other lads saw us - we got our arses kicked!!! Just a verbal warning each though so not too bad and well worth the trip
What I wouldnt give to go to Wembley and see the lads once we have beaten Everton.... but flights and the ticket will just be too expensive.
