Under JM we got everything at SB; but that one penalty scored by opponents in eight Prem seasons is a bit freaky don't you think?

You're the only ever present team to have over DOUBLE the penalties received, compared to given against.

Since someone brought up Atkinson I'll c+p something I wrote yesterday on the Fulham board that sums up how it works:

Take Atkinson, the inventor of Fergie Time, as an example. Against City he adjusted an extra 2 minutes on top of injury time, which fair enough can be explained away. Then the same ref for the Everton/United 3-3 the next season only added 30 seconds extra on inury time when Everton had scored twice in the 3 mins added and blew the whistle just as Everton were on the attack. Surprise, surprise. Then in the same season, Fergie blasts Atkinson after the 50/50s don't go in his favour against Chelsea and one of England's elite referees who takes charge of CL games is dropped to the Championship. Atkinson, who had taken 4 United games up until that game in the season then doesn't have a United game for over a year. His first game back is the one against Tottenham and he disallows the opening goal of the game despite no law being broken. Handballs have to be intentional...

There's no great brown envelope conspiracy but refereees get dropped from United games if they make mistakes that get criticised by Fergie, this in effect allows him to create his own pool of referees that the FA then pick from. It applies to most big teams but none to the extent of United.

No. The ref awarded those penalties for whatever reasons and yet the guy talking them failed to score. I suppose that's United and ref's fault for scheming together to make them miss. <doh>

Out of interest what are the stats for penalties given against the other top clubs in those 8 years? Not just scored as that's irrelevant.

Oh right, you're a Chelsea fan, your username is funny.

This season we've had more penalties given against us at home than any other PL side apart from West Brom. All part of Fergie's masterplan.

Damning statistics proving United concede the least pens since this data was compiled.

I thought it would be Chelsea as JM influenced the ref more than SAF. it is close.

The one penalty scored by opp in eight seasons at Old T was from 90s to early 00s.

This cannot be right as Fergie controls the FA and instructs the ref to always give decisions to our team.

Or that our attackers spend so much time attacking. It's very simple really unless you are a bitter simpleton.

You're confusing Chelsea with a team that have mounted a sustained title challenge over the ten year period.

You still on about missed penalties against United? Nothing to do with United. Ask the balloon who missed.

There were still only three penalties awarded to opponents in that ten years at Old T. All were missed.

Possibly meaning that United defenders don't dive in as much. Proves nothing.

Of course we get an advantage at OT. Its part of being the home team. Clubs that dont make use of their home advantage and the home fans behind them are stupid as ****.

It wasnt a penalty anyway, the ref said so!
