Nani and Michael Owen are still out injured, everyone else is fit bar Nemanja Vidic and Darren Fletcher, He wants Paul Pogba to say by saying - Sir Alex on Pogba: "We want Paul Pogba to stay because we think he's going to be a fantastic Manchester United player. We hope that's the case." He epexcts Nani and Michael owen to train next week - "We're only waiting on Nani and Michael Owen now and expect both to start training with us next week."

That's all i've got at the moment will edit the thread if i find anything else.

We could use this thread each week after the gaffer does his press conference and we can talk about what he discussed.

Sir Alex Ferguson has launched an amazing attack on Manchester City and warned them he has "plenty of ammunition" if they want to engage in mind games.

"If you talk about desperation, they played a player the other night who the manager said he'd never play again and he takes a five-month holiday in Argentina. What is that? Could that come under the description of desperation?"

"We've got plenty of ammunition, don't you worry about that."

Surprised he hasn't said much about Berbatov. The Fulham game is the type of match he'd relish playing in. Maybe Berba has decided on his future?

I wouldn't be suprised if Berbs didn't play for us again.

It seems pretty certain that he's leaving in the summer either way though.

Best of luck to him however we need players that show up every game, not sparkle here and there <ok>

Yep, he will be leaving in the summer.

He has been a good servant at our club.

    Latest comments from SAF:

    http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-F...uson-acknowledges-manchester-city-threat.aspx

Sir Alex Ferguson expects Manchester City to be competing with United for trophies for at least the next decade.

"I think what we've got to get used to, and every United and City fan too, is that there's going to be big games involving the two teams - semi-finals, finals, whatever - for the next decade anyway," Sir Alex affirmed. "The two of us will be at the forefront. But I also think Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham can stabilise themselves and can have great teams in the future."

Tbh I'd be happy to see a strong rivalry between Utd and City in the future. City have had some bad fortune in the past with useless owners and managers. With FFP making the playing field a bit more even there should be some tight battles in the future.

Should be some very exciting games between the two clubs for the foreseeable future.

I also like how he left Liverpool out of the clubs that will be challenging.

I wouldn't read too much into that. He also left loads of other mid table clubs out of the list - West Brom, Fulham, Swansea, Sunderland. It's not like he singled Liverpool out or anything <ok>

    Ferdinand fit for Ewood Park

Sir Alex has revealed Rio Ferdinand is fit to start Monday night's crucial clash at Blackburn.

The centre-back was substituted towards the end of the 1-0 win over Fulham but it was only a precaution and he has had no after-effects to the back problem that troubles him from time to time. With Nani still not fit enough to return, the travelling party is likely to be unchanged from the one that saw off the Cottagers.

"It'll be the same squad as Monday night with no changes," stated the boss. "We expect Nani to train tomorrow but the game will come too soon for him. Rio is okay, he just felt a bit stiff. We know the situation with that. We addressed it right away and put Chris Smalling on. He's fine."

Sir Alex knows to expect a real battle at Ewood Park, which hasn't been the happiest of hunting grounds for the Reds over the years.

"The game at Blackburn is always a difficult type of game," he added. "It has a local derby feeling about it and is always a bit feisty. Last season, we came back from a goal down to win the league but we expect a difficult game. That's the way all the matches will be but hopefully we can navigate them."

#SAF: "Someone said #mufc don't get penalties at OT but the avg over the last 20yrs or so is only about 3 a season or something like that."
