I think Neil Lennon is the poorest man managers in the SPL he cant have any respect from his players dancing around like a lunatic on the touchline. Once again with things not going to well, instead of focusing on the job in hand and motivating his players and developing a recovery strategy, he plays the conspiracy card and remonstrates with the officials like a rabid dog to the point of expulsion. No wonder the Celtic players looked a desperatley beaten group when they appeared for the 2nd half leaderless. I think he knows hes limited and wants to play the "ive been pushed out by the sectarians and men in black" card before the Celtic hierarchy see sense and dump him anyway. For the good of his health the best bet either way, might save him from himself....hes an ill man. Seriously ill.
I cant see Neil going anywhere tbh. Realistically, the Celtic board will feel they are in a good position, with the Gers, probably, being financially restrained.[if they are still there] The board will feel they do not have to spend big to stay ahead of the pack, and therefore will not want a potential new manager coming in and asking what his transfer budget is likely to be. They will do all in their power to ensure that Neil stays because they know they can work with him, and no doubt Neil will feel that the league will be there for the taking next season. Personally i don`t have a problem with that even though i do feel that Neil is limited in his capabilities. [so far].
i don't think lennon would leave at the end of the season. i also dont think he should leave. he deserves a chance at having a crack at CL football (if we get through the qualifiers). he needs to get rid of all the deadwood (those out on loan). For me he should also sell a couple of players with a some value. We need to bring some experience in through the spine of the team CD, CM and forward. i look forward to the challenge of newco fc next year...
I agree with a lot of what you're saying but is Lennon the right man to steer us through the CL qualifiers? We need to go into these games up to speed, not like we did earlier this season when we got battered off Sion or the previous season when we got humped by Utrecht. We definitely need experience in the team but who? We've got a new CB arriving in the summer and he's only 24. I can't see us making too many signings unless we sell the likes of a Hooper or Forrest.
forget about the champions league ST, they are not good enough, the money isnt worth being embarrassed by decent European teams We might win a few home games in the Europa League early stages and thats the best you can hope for, the class just isnt there in that team, they are solid squad for the spl but yesterday proved to me what I already knew, they are a very average outfit in a shockingly poor league, that had to be without doubt the worst rangers 11 I have ever seen in an Old Firm game and they managed to go 3 nil down. and if someone offers them 7 figures for Hooper they should bite the hand off them
It's a good point Eddie but how much of Sunday's performance (and the League Cup final) was down to Lennon's poor choice of team selection and tactics? We've lost too many "big" games under Lennon and in each of them it's came down to those two problems. Dropping Sammy in the Cup final? Madness. Starting Cha and playing Sammy out wide in the OF game? Utter nonsense.
I think everyone was puzzled when Samaras didnt start the Cup Final, wether that was the deciding factor in the result im not sure because we had enough chances to win 3 games and Hooper or Stokes couldnt take any of them. As for yesterday, you have to question Lennon for going with one up front, the league is over, we have a chance to win it mathematically at Ibrox against a weak rangers side in turmoil and he sets up to keep it tight? I know Forrest was injured and Hooper was apparently struggling but the players were still there to go 4-4-2 and take the game to rangers. Considering the stakes, it was foolish to set up for a tight game allowing the referee to have an influence, and that was naive from Lennon IMO.
No one's turning on Lennon. We're having a discussion about what's best for both Celtic and Lennon in the coming seasons. Why don't you huns stick to mocked up pictures of Neil Lennon. It's what you do best.
I can only see ST changing his opinion. RL has never wanted Lennon as manager. You Huns are getting more desperate by the day, especially Nev. He's in full ****** mode, scants filled with 2-day old ****e and dribbling incessantly.
Sounds like something that SDM, who famously didn't sack managers, would say just before sacking a manager.
Well, we're just a bunch of anonymous blokes (and one girly) talking on a football forum so I don't think it's quite the same thing, is it?
Why would you want to get rid of a manager who's about to deliver your first league title in 4 seasons? You turned on Strachan too and ended up with that clown Mowbray.
