If West Ham beat Peterborough tomorrow then the table will look like this:

    1 Southampton 39 78
    2 Reading 39 73
    ---------------------------------
    3 West Ham 39 72

....I think I speak for every one when saying that if this is the table going into the weekends fixtures then we would want the West and Reading game to be a draw.

However if West Ham draw or lose against Peterborough (there is a very good chance) the table will look like this:

    1 Southampton 39 78
    2 Reading 39 73
    ---------------------------------
    3 West Ham 39 69/70

...If West Ham do drop points, What would you prefer?

-West Ham to beat Reading so that we that we have the opportunity to increase the gap on 2nd place by picking up points against Blackpool. (This could also mean that when we play Reading we COULD clinch the title.)

-West Ham and Reading draw meaning that we have the opportunity to open the gap on both of them ...but if we were draw against Blackpool (very probable) it would mean that we would not open the gap on anybody, which would be a very big missed opportunity. (If we do draw and there is a winner between West ham and Reading then at least we will be a point further from one of them).

-Reading beat West Ham meaning the gap between us and the play-offs becomes even bigger but Reading will still be breathing down our necks...(more or less so depending on our result against Blackpool.)

I personally think West Ham will draw tomorrow (again) and, therefore, on Saturday I would want West Ham to win so that we can have bigger chance of winning the title.

I might be counting a few chickens but I really do think we will go up (positive thinking) so the important thing for me is whether we will finish 1st or 2nd.... if Reading lose then we could open up an 8 point gap....which could give us the chance to be crowned champions when we play them in a few weeks!

    ...What do you lot think?

The most important thing is that we increase the gap between us and third place, so I will be hoping for Reading to at least draw with West Ham.

    Control the controllable's.
This is a huge week for West Ham. Fail to win tomorrow and the pressure on them to beat reading will be massive.

I think Blackpool & Portsmouth are two potentially tricky games for us. If we can get 4 points then that will be enough to maintain our cushion with 5 to go.

There are still plenty of twists and turns ahead.

Well if we win 5 of our 7 games left, we're guaranteed promotion, so what West Ham do is irrelevant. Yes, it's a bonus if the other sides slip up but focus on ourselves. It's in our hands and, it's effectively 13 points needed with our superior goal difference.

I think we're unlikely to throw promotion away now, so I want a draw, better for our title prospects to have both teams 'slipping up' and dropping points!

Yep, I'd prefer a draw between Reading & West Ham, so as to waste the 3rd point. I also think that's the most likely result. The fact that neither will really want a draw, though Reading will be the least disappointed, leads me to think so, as they cancel each other out. My second preference would be a Reading win. Saints can take care of the Championship.

That's an original slogan. You really ought to copyright it. ;)

I would like a draw, with 5 sending offs per team, administration for both teams with an automatic 10 point deduction each. Do you think this is likely?
