There are no coincidences in football.

Lucas Injury = drop in form

    Agger injury = leaking goals

Bellamy Injury = Lose games consistently

Top (ish) in chances created, Bottom(ish) on goals scored

No more squad players, no question the overall squad has improved in depth, now we need to add real quality. Not a cheap option, especially when the likes of Chelsea are going to be throwing about silly money.

    1 x CB
    1 x DCM
    1 x RW
1 x ST (who can stick it in the net on a consistent basis = +20/25 goals a season!)

No spend, no hope. Others will not stand still. If Newcastle can find gems, then why can't we? Doesn't have to be 4 x superstars, although we should be aiming to make them one!

Feel free to agree, disagree or ignore!

Agree with you apart from CB. We have Wilson back from loan next season, Coates, Carragher, Wisdom and even Kelly can play CB. Striker for me is most important and is what we're crying out for. We'll just have to wait and see.

This is my point exactly, we have plenty of cover for Agger/Skrtel but are they good enough to step up next season? I doubt Agger will have an injury free year....unfortunately....On the evidence of this season, no......I think Coates will need another season yet. Our cover is not good enough i'm afraid.

it dont matter if we agree, disagree or ignore. we dont make the decisions. the management took an "expert" view of the squad and decided that we dont need a striker, even on loan, in january- when the whole world outside melwood knew that we lack goal scorers.
papis cisse. jelavic. probynyak. djibril cisse.all are january signings that have addwd value to their clubs.p

Signings should be focussed on attack. A striker and a winger/ attacking mid/ versatile super attacker should be the top two priorities.

A centre midfielder I think should be signed to, mainly for depth. Though I think Spearing is good enough cover for Lucas.

    If our choice is limited in the summer which would you prefer;

Taking a chance on a young foreign striker untested in the league.

    Or

An older "Bellamy" type who will guarantee you 15 a season for two seasons.

    Edit: insert winger/midfielder as appropriate.

The dark side brought Scholes out of retirement so maybe we should get Robbie back for the final few games of the season.

I think we should track down this Turan and give him some kind of award for hypnotising so many Liverpool fans. I bet he is really some ten year old on Fifa be a pro mode.

Just tap up Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Ba and Cisse. Lord knows everyone has a price tag here at Newcastle and Liverpool seem keen to pay it - we have an amazing striker called Nile Ranger...

<laugh> He's captain of Turkey didn't ya know? Or so they say. Does Turkey even exist? I mean I know it's an animal, or have they drugged our water supply to make us think Turkey exists? I don't even know any more.

"Turan" is presumably Arda Turan who was the next wonderkid about 5 years ago. He only recently moved from Galatasary to Spain so i can't see him moving again soon. Plus he's not as good as was expected (though still a decent player) and at 25 approaching his peak.

I forget we have Marveux to be honest. He looked ace for the entire 3 games (or something like that) we've had out of him this season.

We had the same situation with Ban Arfa though and that is finally paying off. Foreign players have no reason to be loyal to a team here but we (Newcastle) so seem to have garnered some good will in France and our gallic contingent by looking after these crocks.

Who can see a bit for James McClean from Sunderland coming this summer?

He's a bit one dimensional, I don't see him improving our first team.

Hoilett or Sessegnog(?). both quality players

McClean is the flavour of the month.

Hoilett, Sessegnon, Sinclair would be better.

Who was that Irish bloke we were linked with in January? The Irish leagues starting to get some attention.
