If you consider that we played without full backs for half the year and take the numbers from 1st October ignoring our dreadful start, the goals against difference is two goals. This is a thread about the team going forward, and I'd take our defence over Manchester Uniteds's every day of the week.

    And?

Vidic has only played in 6 PL matches due to injuries, Rafael too. Not to mention Ferdinand's lengthy absence.

We've had to cope with a lot more injuries than you and if Jones is a bad as you say then you're defence must really be **** to have conceded so many more goals than us with our depleted and obviously rubbish defence.

I never said your defence was rubbish, all I was saying was that our defence will not require us to buy players for it, like your defence will.

I have to say I admire your passion. It would be nice if Arsenal fans supported our players to the degree Manchester United fans do. If you sugest a United player is anything less than the best in England you face a trashing like I have. If anyone says an Arsenal player is second best, the Arsenal fans tell you no, he is utter crap.

Jones has made a few mistakes but he's pretty solid and a fantastic prospect, to say he's a "disaster" is exaggeration in the extreme.

Also Smalling and Evans have been immense this season. Evans particularly, yet you overlook them completely and think we're in dire need of an overhaul.

I understand your point of view and, as a United fan, I don't expect to change your mind. However right now I'm happier with Arsenal's defence than yours. I think you will just have to accept that. I'm an unusual Arsenal fan, I actually like our players.

So there are a number of things wrong with this. Firstly, being good enough to win trophies and actually winning them are not totally synchronous. Although in order to win a trophy one must naturally be good enough to win one, it is possible to be good enough to win a trophy (in my opinion) and still not actually win one.

There is also no reason why our defence couldn't be also good enough to win a trophy, even if you believed the Manchester United defence was superior to ours.

Finally, we are talking about the future and this is where ALL we are talking about is an opinion, and the past performance of the Manchester United defence provides no certainty of their winning a trophy next year.

I still fail to understand why, as you think all our players are rubbish, despise everything the club stands for and treat anyone who dares to be optimistic with contempt, how you dare call yourself an Arsenal "fan" or a "supporter".

Does that mean Song will play a more advanced position next season? Or is he being dropped, because we seem to have a lot of CM's available already.

I was about to agree with you for the first time ever but then you went and spoiled it. You talk a lot of ****. Don't give it any of this phoney holier than thou tripe, you and the IAWT lemmings who are happy being spoon fed ****e get on my bloody nerves, I wish you would **** off and support another team, I don't want you to support MY club, I want passionate supporters, supporters with the nuts to say "this is bollox and we aint having it".

And to the Man U fan, you have conceded 12 goals less than us, considering we had the worst start in 58 years and we shipped 8 in one game, I think you should be embarrassed that you have ONLY conceded 12 goals less than us you muppet. As annoying as Toledo is, he is absolutely right, we have a better keeper and a better RB. WE have 1 better CB too. From your defence only Vidic and Evra would improve our defence and Vidic is only marginally better than Vermaelen.

Er, not sure what set you off there. I respect your opinion that the whole system is wrong and we have too many ****e players, I just don't agree with it. Doesn't mean I don't want what is best for the club, or reflect the quality of my support.

This is the position we have needed someone for years and years. SOng isng a true dfm and it hurts us time and time again. If we buy him and play him and song then we dont need a creative midfielder because rosicky/wilshire can play there <ok>

I don't think you said anything particularly controversial, I think it was just a case of 'Toledo Wumpton strikes again!' lol

Song with 13 assists this season already. Maybe we can play both Song and M'Vila in some games. It would give another option to Wenger.

Not really, some of the passes he makes show great vision and control. I would like to see M'Vila arrive for the right price (<15 million), and both will get plenty of games. Song has to leave for Africa most years, he can get injured or suspended, and like I say, against some teams it might be better to play M'Vila in the same team as him. In my opinion though, Song has had one of his best seasons, if not the best. His consistency has improved, his vision, his maturity, his judgment, his positional play,. All round he is better, and who's to say he won't improve even more?

    You just sound stupid.

Currently Song is ranked in the top 8 midfielders in the epl on the official site http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/...aramSeason=2011-2012&paramPosition=MIDFIELDER

Incidently, Walcott, another target for your ridiculous attacks is ranked even higher.

Song is 6th in the league in assists with 8 - http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/assists/_/league/ENG.1/barclays-premier-league?cc=5901

12 is the most any player in the league has, so you don't even know what makes a reasonable number of assists. Go away, learn something and then come back and make a sensible post, because this just makes you look like someone who was so outspoken against our players, they just can't bear thefact that they were embarassingly, and totally WRONG.

Another riodiculous Wind up post, that would not be allowed if you didn't pretend to be an Arsenal fan.

He sounds stupid and then you quote that song is ranked top 8 on the premier league website? <doh> Irony <doh>

However I do agree song is good. Just as a defensive midfielder he sucks and so he shouldnt play there. Song should play with a defensive midfeilder and would be quality. Song isnt a world beater but is improving.

Don't get the irony. What is ironic is that he is saying that Song is not any good, but he is at the top of the premiership for assists.
