The Scummers will be straight back down again, as their owner is reluctant to spend the significant amounts required to keep them up ,as they must surely now be heading for the Premier League. We sadly seem to be losing our current battle against the drop after our points deduction, but we will not lose the war ,and will be back playing the South Coast derby the season after next. You heard it here first from ever reliable SB3. PUP and feck off you Scummers!:emoticon-0173-middl

Well, IF we get there it will certainly be an experience and if we do get fisted on a weekly basis (footballing parlance) at least we will get 'parachuted' back to the relatively safe confines of the Championship again courtesy of some PL wonga.

IF Pompey go down into League 1, it is a time for re-building, re-focusing and planning for the future. It's a good craic down there, genuine footie fans and decent honest people. It will make you stronger just as it did us.

Long live the South Coast derby and beware of any imposters (e.g. Brighton).

SB3 you are ever-reliable and I've no doubt you will be ever-present. UTS and PUP!

Wow, living SB3's 'inside information' <doh>

As always more concerned about Saints.

There are teams in the Championship which I think we could match.

The key to surviving the Prem is not to spend massively (ie. Pompey, Derby, QPR because it only unbalances the team who are more concerned with bank balances.)

Yes we will need more players but I think only a couple of players <ok>

The team is ready for challenges and we are very much looking forward to it!

We at least we'll have two games against Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic to look forward to. What was the craic like when you played them - any good?

Bournemouth tried to start fights here and there at the matches, tried to WUM and big it all up and then they lost the three times we played them.

    Twice in L1 and CC.

Portsmouth are twice the fans of those of Bournemouth.

no doubt Frau Liebfraumilch will be trousering the Sky money to pay back her investment which she inherited from her late father, if she does not spend on any players it should prove a good investment as the money he paid to take the club out of Administration will be repaid and she could then sell it on, whilst you are still in the Premier League albeit for one season!<laugh>

    "...the ever reliable SB3"

Agreed. Totally reliable. [/U]Always [/U]posts a load of cobblers. <ok>:)

Tell, you what, Singing. Why don't you see what odds you can get on Saints coming straight down from the EPL and Portsmouth bouncing straight back up, should things pan out as expected over the next few games? I have got tickets for the 7th but I fear it may well be the last "real" derby game for a long while. Seriously, I hope to renew hostilities in due course, back in the Premiership once you have ditched the leeches and sorted yourselves out.

I'm not sure the Southampton team as it is will be capable of survival in the Premier League. I think they've overachieved this season to be honest. About halfway through this season I didn't want Southampton to go up because I wanted more South Coast Derbies but now with Pompey likely to go down to League One that doesn't matter. So instead I'll wish them good luck and hope for an up-turn in our own fortunes in the future.

I think that after after we have delivered a stripey-style thrashing to your boys on the 7th, the PA system at SMS should pipe out "We'll Meet Again" by Dame Vera Lynn. Think we'd all be dabbing our eyes with hankies...

Well, I can't be bothered to trawl through, but I will bet we could find some absolute gems from you, SB3, at the beginning of the season. I am sure you must have predicted that we would sink back to League One, whilst you soared back up to the Premiership where you belonged. Completely correct, save one minor detail<doh>
Personally, I did quip that I didn't mind where we finished just so long as it was above Pompey....adding that 21 places or so would be ideal. It was only a joke right, but I think I am probably going to be proved scarily accurate. So when I say that we will not come straight down, believe it.

Despite our acute problems I very much doubt you will administer a demolition like we did in the last two derbies, in fact your lot usually ' bottle it 'and I expect us to get at least a point in the match!<ok> PUP

I would struggle to find any evidence of Saints "bottling it" in the last couple of seasons-quite the opposite in fact. I am not expecting a demolition. I am certainly hoping for a win, and any win will do nicely.

Yes we have 'bottled' that special winning formula this season. Keeps us smelling and looking sweet :)

I for one predict a demolition on the cards and you boys won't even get a sniff <whistle>

Do you remember if you are old enough, when we beat the Scum 4-1 at Fratty, Crouchie was injured in the warm up and did not play? In actual fact he bottled it and threw up in the tunnel which is the real reason he did not play.QED<laugh>

Methinks your bitterness is eating you up.
There will not be a problem financing players once we make the premiership - our owners are something you lot can only dream about & are
    unlikely to ever attract.
Be interesting to see how you "pack the park" on Tuesday night.
By the way, did you look at the gate at Southampton the weekend - you lot need three games to get that number!

I thought it was quite a peaceful thread by the Mingmiester.
He's saying we're going up, Skates are going down, we'll not over spend while there & he's even put it a funny joke about Pompey achieving promotion in a couple years! <laugh>
5 stars from me, but I refrain from voting if its all the same.
