I agree Seb did go a bit too far with the finger as Narain was only trying his best in avoiding him, something here which not many of us could do anyway.

<applause> I think he'd expect the heavies to back him. On top of all you say, he has assiduously turned himself into the-son-Bernie-never-had. That brown nose must have taking some scrubbing clean. Oh well, rather him than me ;)

I'm with Bhaji and cosi on this. The lead driver choice applies to the optimum lap on which to stop in accordance with the strategy. In races like today's the strategy is more or less out of the window and it's down to driver preference. When the safety car came in I personally believe McLaren used Button to benefit Hamilton's race by having him slow the pack up knowing he was coming into the pits and allowing Hamilton to bolt before Button had got out of the way. If Hamilton had wanted to come in immediately the team would have accommodated that and given Button the choice either to stay out or to stack.

its just confusing. It is like McLaren expect Hamilton to win the WDC on his own, but they'll help Button all he wishes. There isnt equality, its plain obvious. Its quite telling, after Oz, Lewis revealed that McLaren changed his launch procedure at the last moment, after it had been good all throughout the weekend. The strategy today was at least very questionable, but now Hamilton is ahead in the standings, and its China next, where he has won twice, should be 3 (2007) and was 2nd in 2010. He goes very well there, I cant remember a bad performance from him, 2007 was unavoidable and in 2009 he still finished in the points in that dog of McLaren, so it will be strange if Hamilton has a bad weekend, watch this space.

One need only ask, "who are Bernie's best friends?"

OPINION: - the answer is, I believe, invariably those he perceives as the most powerful. There is a huge list of individuals and various bodies going a long, long way back.

Further opinion:
Bernie's friends are those who he feels will help and allow him to pursue his own wealth. This is the reason he has never once (to my knowledge) questioned the ethics of paying Ferrari simply to be on the grid, over and above all other competitors. This is, I believe, why he reneged on his stated commitment to F1 fans by capitulating to another 'friend' and his empire (who I believe have ambitions aimed directly at F1, which Bernie would appear happy to go along with, when the time comes): Murdoch. I also believe this explains his reluctance to turn his back on Bahrain. Etc., etc., etc…

Was it only me who heard Hamilton on the Radio saying "these tyres are fine" ? Or did I just dream that? Hamilton WAS asked but chose to stay out!

Even if this was not the case, in a situation like this, when you do not know which tyre is better, the most sensible thing to do is to take in the lower placed driver to use him as a test.

Or am I talking about the wrong pit stop? Apologies if that's the case.

Maybe Martin Whitmarsh just doesn't like Lewis' openess with regard to his future.

If Lewis wont commit to the future like Jenson and feels he can do it without McLaren then you cant really blame Whitmarsh to maybe support the long term option. If I was Lewis I would stay at McLaren or face driving for Mercedes or Lotus next season which in respect is a step down for his calibre.

They have given the car he has always craved, now he should be a bit more respectful to McLaren as a whole or just leave as there are plenty of drivers who could fill his seat at a third of the wage.

It's funny, when Webber calls people idiots everyone says he's being honest, when Seb does it, Seb is an arseole.

I can understand the frustration you obviously feel, GUEST.

But it is important to understand how individual F1 teams work. As I mentioned before; each driver has his own race engineer and it is the relationship they form together which results in the decisions, which - in this case - you are unhappy with.

The point I'm trying to make is that McLaren do not have anyone dictating decisions to their two driver/engineer teams. Thus, it is the result of interaction between each driver and his engineer that results in a decision being reached. In this regard, Button is more authoritative than Hamilton, who tends to be somewhat less confident about strategic decisions. We are talking about the differences in personality and relationships formed from these differences. Some people are more natural leaders than others. Some are more gifted with innate talent. Some are more intelligent. Some are more instinctive. Etc.

P.S. Those four 'somes' are not directed toward either driver and are random generalisations of the differences we may expect to find amongst any people. I am just trying to explain how things work at McLaren and how this can affect the strategic decisions we witness as a result of this philosophy.

Spot on, I'd say. I think Bernie's friends are a bit like Bernie's principles or Bernie's 'word', all subject to expediency.

It's what happens when you become a top tier driver, the hate goes into overdrive. This is why Im already considering being a Perez fan over a Seb fan as the **** being flung on both sides becomes stupid, I did it with the schumi era, the kimi era and im likely to do this with the Seb era. When drivers get chucked into the spotlight, crosshairs also get put on them and so does the BS being flung and I never enjoyed that sort of hostility.

It's such a shame that it will likely happen to Perez sooner or later when he gets a WDC around his waist if he keeps going like this and yet I will eventually have to do the same thing when the BS starts to get flung from a group of fans following a different driver.

I dont jump on glory trains, I get bored of them and pick who I see as the next ****hot talent as it's easier to support and enjo then.

I read it was a "gurk" which equals a dog I think.
