Now Im not getting ahead of myself here and we want the Everton game out of the way first, hopefully with the right result, but then we go off to play at City. They have such a fantastic home record this season, 15 straight wins, but just lately they have started to struggle to overcome teams, be it the pressure of getting over the line as top dogs, or just that every team has a bad spell, they are certainly not playing the flowing football from earlier in the season. Now this weekend they face the mighty Sunderland and if we are at our best we can be the most difficult of teams to play against, hence the result on New Years Day. Could we be in the semi finals of the FA Cup and having put a massive dent in Citys Premiership hopes by this time next week only time will tell, but I have a feeling in my waters about the next two games and I can assure you it is a very nice feeling. Bring it on.
I know there is no logic whatsoever but I just go into every game these days expecting a result. I blame bloody O'Neill for all this expectation, positive thinking, will to win, belief and never say die attitude. Mind the old fingers crossed, hope for the best but expect the worst period was bloody gloomy so maybe this is a better way.
I think we may get bitch-slapped next weekend. The players will still be recovering from te Wembley induced hangovers
I think we will just get passed Everton on Tuesday as it will be a tight game. With an out of sorts Liverpool in the semis, but because of this pick up 10 points in our run in, which will get us into the top 10. Definitely happy with this though.
Win or lose Tuesday, we will suffer the dreaded 'cup hangover' and Citeh away is not the best place to go and suffer one!! End Of.
Very true, better to have it in a game we'd assume was nil points anyway. We will finish top 10, so really, the cup is all that matters in reality!
Or better still, to instill a bit of confidence (Half Glass Full) be the only side to take 6pts off Citeh.
I think the everton game will go into extra time, players will be knackered for city and we'll get absolutely smashed. Always have been a bit of a pessimist when it comes to sunderland though
We've been very hot'n'cold lately so you just never quite know but I've got us down to nick a point for what it's worth.
I think the everton game will go into extra time, players will be knackered for city and we'll get absolutely smashed. I prefer this prediction
We never do well down there, but neither do many other teams lately. As long as we don't fail to turn up like last season I'll be happy. I remember reading that we are the only English team in history to have a 100% win rate from home games in a season (way back in the 19th Century, but still). It would be very appropriate if we were the side that stopped City from emulating that record!
Yes if we could win at Man C we may even make the second game spot on Match Of The Day. Of course we will have to be shown after ManU's thrilling 0 - 0 draw at Blackburn.
This....I just reckon we will get smashed. I wouldn't care if we were in the Semi's! Our recent away performances havn't been the best either...
I'll be honest and say that I haven't even give the City game a thought as yet...Our biggest game of the season so far is tomorrow night, and once that is over I might be able to get my head round the City game...Having said that, City do have a 100% home record, and if we get anything from that game it would be an absolutely massive bonus...
