The Queen has performed far worse than Hodgson, who the Mousers forced to "walk alone," and yet he is still considered by many hardened Mousers to be the club's saviour. For them, the cry is, "next season will be Queen Kenny's season." However, the anxiety over the Queen's tactical abilities, as well as his royal gaffs at bringing in donkeys such as Carroll, Downing and Henderson, is mounting fast among a growing contingent of the Mouser fan-base, with some beginning to call for his head. Their humiliation at the hands of Wigan could well be the tipping-point for the old boy. If they lose their next game, there is a real possibility that they could slump to 9th. If 'Pool fail to hold onto 7th spot, do you think he will last the season? And, if so, do you think he'll be given another chance next season?
Looking over on the Mousers' board, there is a clear split on the subject. One camp seems to be dazed and confused that their living god is taking LFC to depths they have never before been. They refuse to believe that Kenny really is so bad, and they want to give him another season before knee-jerking to any decisions on his future. The other camp consists of those Mousers who have actually noticed that Queen Kenny has got no clothes on, and they are bemused that the Mousers in the other camp can't see it. Watching the various dramas unfold, over on the Mousers' board is great fun! Almost as good as when the Gooners were tearing one another part over whether or not Whinger should be sacked
I know what you mean, YV. However, just think how hilarious it would be if their legend was sacked for being their worst ever manager! Imagine the shame that each Mouser would have to bear.
Unfortunately, for us, I suspect that the Septics may be slightly more astute than Liverpool's somewhat blinkered fan base. It would not, therefore, surprise me if he gets the tin-tac at the end of the season.
They're already probably thinking of giving Kenny his old job back (what ever that was), and I suspect you're right, NSS, that'll he'll stay manager until the end of the season. For me, he's made too many mistakes, in so many areas, that his position is becoming more and more untenable with every match played.
Is Kenny Dalglish Liverpool's Juande Ramos? A manager with a good reputation, who wins the Carling Cup and then slumps to mid-table in the league, with some obvious communication problems? 2 points from 8 games next season?
It kind of reminds me of Glenn Hoddle's time at the Lane. We got stuffed 4-0 at home in the last league game by Blackburn, and the reality was that it could easily have been 14-0, but such was Hoddle's stature at the club, that instead of doing the proper thing and sacking him, he was allowed time into the next season. He then got sacked early in the next season and we had no-one lined up and David Pleat took over. I can see the same happening at Liverpool. They won't sack Kenny because of who he is, and then a few months down the line into next season, he'll still be ballsing it up, and then they'll have no other choice. The bloke is a charlatan and the sooner he gets his come uppance, the better, but it won't be just yet imo.
please log in to view this image is looking for a job in the English PL...oddly after being criticised as England manager for poor communication. In the photos in the link below, Platini and Abramovich's facial expressions say it all on hearing the news. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2119887/Fabio-Capello-linked-Chelsea-job.html
Try telling that to Newcastle fans, he was an absolute disgrace here and I think it was his last job before this spell at Liverpool.
"Ideally, he’d like to coach for two more years and then perhaps spend a third year showing a younger manager the ropes before retiring." That rules out him going to Chelsea, then
He's never been any good as a manager IMO. O.K. he won the league with Jack Walker's money, but apart from that, he's achieved **** all considering the resources that have been at his disposal.
2 points from the last 8 league games: 8 from 11; Which ever way you slice it;... its relagation form. I've seen managers get the old 'heaveho' for less. Never the less, (I sigh) I suspect Kenny will survive,........ at least until May.
If you look at Liverpool's team, he's trying to replicate that Blackburn squad 17 years late. Goalkeeper that saves everything: Tim Flowers - Pepe Reina Heart On Sleeve Centre Back: Colin Hendry - Jamie Carragher Attacking Left Back: Graeme Le Saux - Jose Enrique Winger Known For Crossing: Stuart Ripley - Stuart Downing All-Running Midfielder: Tim Sherwood - Steven Gerrard Battering Ram Forward: Alan Shearer - Andy Carroll Cynical Dirty Cheating Bastard Forward: Alan Shearer - Luis Suarez Cobbled Together Bunch Of Journeymen: The Rest of the First XI - The Rest of the Squad of 25
You mean football has moved on 20 years and Kenny boy doesn't seem to have noticed. I expect Downing, Carroll, & co would have been a wow back in those days.
As we know from painful experience its a bad thing to win the Carling Cup when you've nothing really to aim for in the league. Because of that we can only suggest that King K may not be as good as half the fans and the pundit fans think. For that reason (and it may actually be an excuse that is used, citing what happened with us) he'll probably get into next season before judgment.
Aye. He got rid of Ferdinand, Ginola and Asprilla and brought in Barnes, Rush and Pearce If I could wish for one thing this entire year it would be for us to stick them by 5 next week.
