Morning all Lovely sunny day here. Always good to get three points from a game that looked lost for a long time. A great rally from the team but strange they took 70 minutes to start showing some self-belief. SD's substitutions made the difference...big Chris of course but the Prince also gave us a better midfield balance and some decent passing too. Taylor and Eustace had solid games and I thought Murray looked very much at home at this level. For me both full backs remain a concern. Both seem to lose the player they're marking too often and the less said about their distribution the better. Hogg struggled to get in the game and I agree with those who think he and Eustace don't play well together, any more than Eustace and Jenkinds did.
Even more encouraging though is we finally seem to have a manager who tires something to turn the game round suing substitutions - Aidy and MAlky both seemed poor in that department
Afternoon all - listening to the Old Firm game on 5-Live, blimey that is some atmosphere. I would love to go to one of those games...awesome.
just got back from Leo Land where we have been spending the weekend, great result from the Golden Boys, they really are staring to gel as a unit, i know it's only a pipe dream but 6 points deficite is not impossible to overcome Thanks for the coffee Ak i'll take an extra doughnut if it will help with your diet.
Good weekend to go west young man - we had 19 / 20 C which for March is pretty goof - whereabouts were you ?
Morning All. The nights really are getting longer. It is 6.45 and pitch black outside. I can see the city lights shimmering in the nor'west air stream - apart from the central city, of course, which is dark and still off limits whilst it is demolished. A few more houses our way have finally gone as insurance agreements are signed. It seems that half the roads in the city are being dug up at the moment to fix water and sewage pipes. The nice thing that that allowed for was the placing of flowers in the traffic cones last month to mark the 1st anniversary of the Feb quake. I don't think I saw a cone without a flower. That is a lot of flowers. We are still getting aftershocks. We had a couple of 4s over the weekend whilst I was watching a downhill bike race. That was fun. The race went through urban streets, over vehicles, and at one steep bit, over the roof of a house.
Sorry to hear you are still having quite a lot of quakes NZ NIghts are lighter here - especially with BST coming in. Oot there for any UK star gazers there is a superb Venus and Jupiter in the arms of a crescent Moon
NZ, it must be a really strange place to be living with aftershocks and a city that is being removed. With us there is no city within 50 miles, but parts of Limoges had to be rebuilt after WWII. Having just moved the clocks forward into UTC+1.00 whatever that might be, we are now looking forward to the long hot days of summer, and my regional information tells me that the chance of an earthquake is less than 1%. I do hope that everyone down under will have a degree of peace within their lives before too long and we up here do not forget that there are many far worse off than us.
Knowing little about stars and planets, I had wondered about those two very bright lights. I guessed one was Venus, but not sure of the other. Am I right in assuming that Venus is the brighter of the two and is almost vertically postioned above Jupiter here?
woohoooo! Well done Ak, that's wonderful! Thanks for the caramel latte this morning, i took it to work with me
