Hi, It appears that Fox in Australia aren't showing the Saints V Pompey game. Is it on the bbc in the UK? Ta Stu
Apart from 3 points to Saints this is an unimportant game. Easy to see why they picked our Blackpool and Reading games...all teams having something to play for.
No TV company will televise the game after all the complaints from viewers after showing the horrible Pompey crowd scenes when we played them last. A lot of the viewing public were horrified by the images of the gesturing and obscene mouthing Pompey fans. I had heard that the BBC do not usually receive complaints about football matches but for this match they received more complaints than for any single show since the days of the Viewers and Listeners Association led by the well known Mary Whitehouse. I also think they are worried that they might inadvertantly show footage of Pompey fans urinating on the seats. They need not worry about our fans as they will be sedate, calm reserved and their usual highly sophisticated selves.
True, although in retrospect BBC must now wish cursing themselves at not selecting West Ham-Reading on Saturday, rather than our game. Not really their fault though. They made the decision something like two months, and at the time our game did look much more like an automatic promotion head to head than West Ham-Reading.
Yes just shows how quickly things can change. Would have been looked on as a home banker for West Ham when the decision was made.
Although, we score a lot of goals & Blackpool, well, not since Jan 2nd have either they or their opponent failed to score a goal in a Championship game. I think they may well have picked the right game.
It's not a disgrace - the last game was ****e. Just because Saints aren't being shown on TV it's got to be a disgrace.
Yh but after next week we'll have been on twice. We've been the main feature on TFLS countless times. We're also on sky against Reading and Boro aswell which must make about 10 times at least we've been live on tv this season which is about a quater of the season! So yeh we've done alright with our coverage.
Dear, oh dear, are we having this coverage debate again..? Although I believe the only true reason that other clubs exist is so they can play Saints one day, even I have to acknowledge that other teams deserve a bit of proper coverage for their fans. Saints have had a lions share this season, and every way shape and form, so no complaints from me.
Certainly can't complain about coverage, in fact it's frequent enough to be annoying. I prefer 3 pm on Saturday. Still have to get used to it next year I suppose
