No I came here from another board called Vital , it's not exactly the busiest of forums where the swans are concerned so I went looking for something else, I joined planetswans as well but this place is ok as it goes.
I agree there is a time and place for banter, gets boring really fast when every thread turns into a wumfest. I've done a bit of posting on the Cardiff board recently, but kept it to the banter thread or one of JH's 'have a dig at Swansea' type threads where you're going to expect wuming and kept well clear of any decent threads.
I agree stid...I use the banter thread for what it is ..I love aber's music thread ..and if I see an anti Jack thread I'll have a pop but I have no interest in any other stuff over there
i remember when i was young, banter was good, now i am old
"Gotta have some laughs and banter though....no offence cartoon, but your OP did come across like the fun police!" This. I've hardly seen any threads on our board that have been 'hijacked' since the moron Hughs has gone, other than when we occasionally argue amongst ourselves (yes I've done that) so you can't blame Cardiff fans. Yes I did just say that. There is thread after thread after thread of decent stuff here where you can contribute so what's the problem? To call those that choose to banter with our neighbours 'children' is out of order. Well out of order - and very condescending. People are different. Some are deadly serious; some laugh-a-minute; some downright nasty and some like gentle banter. Celebrate diversity because it takes all sorts. If you don't like a thread don't post on it. Simple.
I tend to agree with KJ, and we have had many spats here and on the old 606 but within all of that there has always been football related content at the centre of it, any thread can take its own natural path that drifts away from football, should these also be deleted or moved to another place? sometimes a thread moves on to something completly different and moves off the OP, this is very often a natural trait in any conversation. I agree that the professional WUMS do sometimes get in the way but i have to say that generally there is a very good heart and soul on our board, respect is always there even when we fight/argue amongst each other. RE if you would say the same things to a friend who supported a rival team, hell yes!! why would you not? banter is all part of football forums and life in general, sometimes it can get a bit out of hand sometimes it can be extremly dull and boring, but sometimes its also comedy gold!! I understand your views and know where your coming from, but i feel they are a bit over the top, its hardly World War III on here!! if things get out of hand then the moderator from suderland usually steps in and weilds the Axe !! There are plenty that agree with your views so its good you bring them up, i on the other hand dont take the Forum that serious to be concerned about a bit of bickering on the odd article,it all adds to the flavour for me
And have never been called the 'fun police' before! Sorta like it, can see a TV series in the offing; 'Where there was laughter, he brought tears - where there were smiles, he brought frowns - where there was happiness, he brought misery! Where there was Swansea, he brought Cardiff!' See, am not averse to a bit of banter!
