Kelvin Davis - 6, Agreed nothing to do
Danny Butterfield - 6, Solid at back but poor delivery.
Jose Fonte - 8, Great ball for the second goal and didn't put a foot wrong.
Jos Hooiveld - 7, Had a solid game but nothing stood out to warrant higher than a 7
Danny Fox - 7, As always has a cracking cross on him. Solid and willing to get forward to provide width.
Steve De Ridder - 7, Best player for us in first half. Looks a real handful and can run defenders ragged.
Morgan Schneiderlin - 6, Not his best game but still good. Only a 6 cos i wasn't the Morgan of late.
Jack Cork - 7, Excellent in breaking up the play. Just what we needed at times.
Adam Lallana - 7, Was in and out of the game. When he was in it looked good. Could have been better.
Rickie Lambert - 6, Was a quiet game. Luckily we have goals elsewhere so he deserved a rest.
Billy Sharp - 9, Cracking header for the first and great composure for the second. Never a booking. Always looked a threat. MOTM

Richard Chaplow - 6, a few poor passes. Work rate top notch as always.
Lee Barnard - 7, Played well when he came on. Shame he has been injured this season. Would have been a nice player to have come off the bench.
Dean Hammond- 6, not much of an impact but did his job well to see the game out

Morgan ran the show but boy did we miss Guly. Chaplow did very well when he came on but for me the verdict is still out as regards De Ridder.

    Kelvin Davis - 8
    Danny Butterfield - 9
    Jose Fonte - 8
    Jos Hooiveld - 7
    Danny Fox - 8
    Steve De Ridder - 4
Morgan Schneiderlin - 10 (well I had to the very lovely you know who is looking over my shoulder)
    Jack Cork -9
    Adam Lallana - 6
    Rickie Lambert - 7
    Billy Sharp -9

And if he had played I would have given Guly a 10 just for putting up with the abuse he gets from some sections of the crowd.

De Ridder only a 4?, is that you skimping on fixing your glasses since the Tax hike?. I'd rate him a 6 or 7 <ok>

Rather mixed rating for De Ridder - as low as 4 and as high as 8!

Butterfield was poor i thought! Distribution and delivery was shocking compared to frazer! De ridder was explosive energy and delivery was just.better than butters

Jos actually tweeted that he wasn't happy with his performance. Maybe he's being a bit hard on himself.

On Player, Adkins was very pleased with Butterfield. He also said Lambert wasn't injured but was just feeling it in his pelvic region after playing so much lately...probably explains his reported off-peak performance.

He was our player of the first half, I thought.

    Disappointed with Butterfield today.

He didn't play too well truth be told, I was really watching him today as I want him on my shirt and wanted this performance to really cement my decision. Won about 75% of the balls in the air which I suppose is acceptable but could win more, and lost quite a few 1 on 1s one fairly memorable one in the first when he claimed he was pushed to hard to the ref!

Not his best game but I still adore the fella, even more so now because he can acknowledge when he doesn't have a great game.

Jeez, you always give Fox too high a mark ........<whistle>

Agree with most of those remarks, a couple maybe too high, but not a bad shout. Did you sit some where else today? I thought Butters' crossing wasn't quite at it's normal standard though.

I have to agree I too wasn't enamoured with Butterfields play today. His positional sense was off as was his defending at times giving the opposition too much time and space on the ball. I do not think too many of his crosses found there mark either. I have to say I was rather surprised at the comments by NA in the post match about him too. I guess thats why he is the manager and I am not.....

Look at Butts statistics, 3 games no goals conceded, he put in a good shift and had to put up with Dirty Diouf, don't knock him he hasn't had much opportunity to keep up to scratch.

I thought he played well, but just the crossing that was not of his normal high standards.

Was that after Lambo had gone off though? He may have been trying different options?
