Just thinking after that bad showing last night.

We have two players in Sess and young McClean, who other teams fear and double up on.
In Evertons case they sometimes had three on McClean.

They were still doubling up on McClean last night, but managed to keep the rest of our players quiet.

When Sess and McClean are both on the pitch other teams fear of them, drags them out of position and opens holes for our other players. Which has previously led to some spectacular goals from midfield.

Hopefully with Sess back we can get back to winning ways and Gardner can score a couple of screamers when he is left free.

We need to do our best to keep these two players, if we have any hope of improving as a club

After the Bent thing I'm dubious of trying to guess what players think, but..

Mclean seems a lad who loves it here and appreciates everything he is getting with us. Under Bruce or maybe most other managers he may have been tempted if a bigger club came calling, I don't see that under MON so I think we are safe with him.

Sess is a strange one, seems very happy with us and I would guess that again he can see the opportunity that MON brings, the fly in the ointment of course is the rumoured family problem. If he moved back to France I would be disappointed but would understand, if he moved to another prem club I would be less than happy.

I think MON is the key and I'm sure if he wants to keep them, and he will want to I would think, then they should stay, fingers crossed.

I hear what you're saying Syd.
Hopefully MON will be able to persuade them we are a club on the up.
I personally hate how much players earn these days, but sometimes we are going to have to break the bank whilst the offer of higher wages come in for our star players.
I was impressed Sess took a pay cut to come here, hopefully his family can be made more welcome here by the club and fellow players. (May be worth while looking at French speaking signings as company. :p)

I'm just glad Young went to Utd, as McCLean would have been top of Fergies wish list.

Just buy him a house in Newcastle, they have a Frenchman or two up there.

I thought most of the Sunderland and Newcastle players lived near each other anyway. :)

Plus their Frenchmen will be gone quicker than ours. :p

Thought Sess had purchased a home at Darras Hall with the Newcastle lads. Hopefully that will help his family settle. Think SAFC freally need to improve his contract now cos at the moment without him we are a mediocre team.

Darras Hall is the place, Catts and Bendy live there and so did Bruce. I know Titus lives at Winyard, anyone know about any of the others, just nosey. Bardo is Durham.

I mentioned this in a thread yesterday! Your whole team is capable of scaring the big boys. It is testament to you all when managers include you as a tough, tricky fixture they could slip up on. Your team ethic is brilliant, flair players like McClean (who seems to be back) and Sess will run at full backs and destroy them. Campbell and Whickam are talented strikers who will get better with Campbell already banging them in! You have a solid back like with the greek (I dare not spell his name) O'Shea, Bardo, Brown etc. Facts are, some will dispute this, you can take on the best and beat them (1-0 against city for example!) and this is not just down to one or two players but a whole team.

Is Sess still likely to move in the summer?

Well Martin quite clearly you are reading on here. :)

Thanks for getting the young lad sorted with a new contract straight away. <ok>
He once again rewarded you with another MOTM performance. (Once again 3 defenders on him and he still got past!)

Sess should now be the next priority. <ok>

Actual links to images should translate to a similar size on here mate.
If you are uploading as an attachment it will only upload the size of the actual picture.

Can't see why he would. Has he not moved his family over now?

Not sure if he has or hasn't. I've got a bad feeling about it tho. I would be veryyyyyyyyyyyy happy if he's still at SAFC at the end of the next transfer window

I think our worry is his family settling mate.
But the rumours of their discontent have been doing the rounds since he came.
Hopefully he wears the trousers and he tells the Mrs where they go! :p

Send them to Durham. A lovely city where anyone could settle. All they need to know is London is a few hours away by train (first class no doubt) so they can get their hustle and bustle for a short period of time and then retreat to a calmer, cleaner and much nicer city!

They can afford to use the airport up the road. <ok>
You know the one that Sunderland paid for. :)
